This is a fun hike. Climbing, jumping and water. What more could you ask for? I will being doing this one often. Bring water and take your time.

I did this hike recently because I didn't want nothing to tough since I had hiked the previous day. Did a modified version of this loop which included some climbs. It's pretty easy and heavily populated. I'm a purist and don't really like the bluetooth radios on trails and I heard several on this hike. You get a mix of serious hikers, runners, leisurely walkers and mountain bikers. One thing to note is that they don't open the gate until 7am. So if you're an earlier starter like I am, take note!

Grace my GSD and I just finished this hike. I 100% agree with a previous review that you can skip leg day after this one. I agree with everything Sara Anne Robinson wrote. I'd like to add this this isn't kid friendly. I say that because you're exposed to the elements and it's a straight up for the duration of the first half. Also, getting to the trailhead isn't tricky but you could start to second guess yourself. Just stay on Silverado Canyon Rd until you come to the end of the road and that's the trailhead.

Memorial Day is one of the busiest days to hike this trail. The trail crosses the river a few times. I didn't count the amount of times but I'm sure other reviewers noted the number. The trail isn't clearly marked but if you follow the water you'll be ok. Also, be prepared to get impaled by the Yucca plant. Bring water and food. ALWAYS!
