Loved the hike. The start of this hike could be a little tough mainly because it can be challenging walking in the sand but once you pass that part, the rest of the hike is easy IMHO. We finished the hike in 2 Hours and that includes the 45 or so minutes we spent at the top taking photos. We visited first thing in the morning in November and had the place to ourselves for a good 15 minutes. The views as is obvious in the pictures are awesome. This hike is a must on your Sedona/Arizona itinerary.

This 1 mile hike is great and the views from the top looking into the valley even better. The hikes is not half as daunting as so many reviews state. As long as you are ok with a little bit of scrambling, you should be ok. The hike itself is not hard but the scrambling makes it interesting and sometimes challenging. But the views are super rewarding. We finished the hike in 2 hours including the hour we spent up top taking in the view and tons of pictures.

The trail as others mentioned is quite muddy. There are small streams that run through most part of the trail making it muddy. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots. The first 15-20 minutes are easy flat hike and after that it is is gradual ascend. I am in average shape and I reached the summit in 3 hours. Some hikers I met on the way hiked in 2 hours. The descend was easy but since it was muddy and slippery in some parts, it took us 2 hrs 15 mins to get back. There is a small parking lot which gets full fast, but you can easily park on the side of the road. It was super windy once we got above tree line, so we could not stay for more than 5 minutes on the summit. It was such a bummer since the views are gorgeous. When we hiked, there were very few people on the trail, maybe because it was so cloudy and windy or maybe because it was July 4th. Dress in layers and wear hiking boots and you should be good to go! Highly recommend!

Challenging yet beautiful trail. The last mile or so was the most difficult part.

If you are looking for a quick hike with moderate workout and decent views, this is a good option to consider. The trails were moderate, sometimes even easy. We parked near the entrance to the state park and took the Old Indian trail to the Summit that took about 20 minutes. The entrance fee is $5. There is a watch tower on the summit. The views were OK. There was decent foot traffic on the trails as it was a weekend with great weather. On our way back, we took the Harrington trail, to Semuhenna trail(easy), to West side and then the Old Indian trail back to the car.

Such a great hike. The entrance fee is $5. The hike was a little difficult for me since I am not an experienced hiker. But it is definitely doable. It took us about 4 hours round trip, but we stopped for a lot of photo ops and also took it easy. I am sure if we limited the breaks, we could have completed it in about 3.5 hours. I definitely recommend hiking shoes as it will really help with traction. The views from summit are fantastic. We spent about 1.5 hours at the summit. All in all, a great day hike.
