Loved this trail. 6 yr old and 13 yr old had no trouble with the 1st mile...a steady incline to a scramble at the top. The next mile out was mostly down hill through meadows. Would have been perfect if we hadn’t got caught in a Colorado Mt. thunderstorm. Left the rain coats in the car (rookie mistake) and my 6 yr old thought he was going to die in the cold mt wind & rain. Trek down wasn’t really slick...just a few puddles to avoid and we made it safely back in record time. The sun came out and we beat the next thundercloud to be able to drive down the mt. fairly dry.

The end of the trail connects to at least 2 others at the end, including a panorama lookout, and mule deer trail. Would love to go back and hike further. We loved it!

We arrived around 9 on a Friday, plenty of places to park, and just a few other hikers passed us going up and a group of kids who had camped up on top the night before on their way down (we stopped to whittle wood and make stone weapons several times). Otherwise, very lightly traveled.

Fairly easy hike with two young kids. Lots of dogs on the trail. Hiked along the river the whole time. Walked the Jeep trail at the end to a second hiking trail (much steeper) and hiked another 1/2 mile. Beautiful.

Fun easy walk. Totally dry on June 10. The mile to the waterfall was along a stream. My 6-year-old and 13 year old had a blast. Not much trail after the falls (climb left to go up and around) and very difficult to find a path down to the lake. But a nice little climb after the easy path. Super peaceful. Went on a Wednesday morning....very few others on the trail. Most had dogs.
