    Angie Dickson reviewed Chautauqua-Bluebell-Baird Trails

Beautiful scenery with a decent incline at the beginning that lasts over a half mile. It’s smooth sailing after that, barring a few rocky spots. Pop in to the Ranger cottage to get a detailed map and speak to the wonderful volunteers that can tell you about the varying routes to hike or run. We saw deer and lots of birds along the way. The enchanted mesa was a hands down our favorite.

We hiked the Parmalee, Castle Meadow and Tower trails on a gorgeous sunny day in mid May. The dirt trails are easy to navigate if you grab a trail map at the trail head. There are lots of connecting trails so make certain to know your route or have a trail map on hand. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, specifically at the Tower look outs. Near the Parmalee trail there are plenty of spots to picnic or just sit and chill. There are two parking lots at the trailhead and they even have oversized parking spaces. A great experience!

A wonderful trail with lots of scenery changes. 7 or 8 sun shelters have recently been installed with picnic benches. It's so fun to watch people pan for gold from the trail. Parking at Anderson or Prospect Parks is free.

Nice for walking, skating or leisurely cycling. Although the interstate is very close, this park still has a lovely view of the mountains and Lakeside Amusement park.

Easy to moderate trail alongside Creek. Very easy to navigate through the canyon. One of my favorites.

This is a moderate trail, without a doubt. Steady incline all the way up. That being said, it is worth the trip. Stunningly gorgeous lakes with one framed by Sopris. Definitely dog friendly as we saw lots of pups.
