Hiked it as part of a one night backpacking trip. The hike was a challenge but quite nice. The trail itself was varied, rocky and/or steep at times, while flat and easy at others. The weather was great during my trip and the views are excellent at the top.

As John stated, bring plenty of water or some way to purify/filter natural sources.

This hike was great. Definitely take layers as the wind will punish you even in the sunny areas. The trail was clear this past Sunday but there were patches of snow at the summit. The views were incredible.

Ditto on difficulty left and caution on location of trail expressed by others.

It is a great hike, but definitely not for beginners. Prepare to invest a full day completing it and heed the warnings on the parking at Chantry Flat. I arrived just a few minutes past 6 and it was already getting close to capacity.

Great views, especially in the late afternoon. Note that part of trail indicates a turn into a section marked as private property. I had to take a detour to avoid hassles.

To previous poster, the access road is still closed.

I like this trail quite a bit. The climb offers a decent challenge and the views are awesome, especially at sunrise.

Two tips I would share is to make sure you wear sturdy boots. The small jagged rocks only get worse as you get closer to the top. Secondly, the trailhead is very easy to miss at night as it is hidden by brush and trees. It is immediately to the left at the point where you reach the fire access turn off.
