A generally easy hike with a couple of moderate inclines to summit each of the peaks. Beautiful views of downtown. Even in late October there were a couple of wild flowers -- it must be really gorgeous in late spring and early summer. There are quite a few mountain bikers at the beginning, but none near the ridgeline. My dog loved it. I think dogs are supposed to be on leash, but it seems like nobody really follows this. This would make a great after work hike to watch the sunset.

Angels Landing is a must do. It's a unique experience that you will be retelling many times. It's not a particularly difficult hike and the most strenuous part is probably heading into Walters Wiggles, but even here it's only moderate. The chains are a lot of fun. Well, in retrospect they were a lot of fun, but at the time it felt terrifying/exhilarating all at once.

For people with a fear of heights- I have a decent fear of heights and I didn't have any real issues on the chains. I wasn't one of those people that you see peering over the edge or anything like that, but it was definitely doable and enjoyable even for someone who isn't the biggest fan of heights.

Pro Tip: Make every possible effort to get on the first bus. I got on the second or third bus of the day and had no problems getting up at all, but coming back down we were already starting to run into traffic on the chains. Unfortunately, early in the day is not the best lighting for pictures at Angel's Landing, but it is absolutely the best time for hiking.

This is a great short (but not too short) hike up to one of my favorite lakes. I have yet to go further to Lake Martha or Lake Catherine, though that's definitely on the to do list. I've hiked this trail on super hot summer days and in snow, but I especially enjoy it in spring/early summer when the wild flowers are in bloom. Plenty of rocks to relax on and enjoy a rest while overlooking the lake.

This is one of those short hikes that's great for when you only have a short time but want to get in a great view. I love to take first time visitors to Salt Lake here at sunset because it's so convenient to get to and really gives a beautiful panorama of the city. Steep, but doable even for beginners.

This is an easy walk around a nice lake, though it can be pretty crowded. Saw some wildlife once we got away from the larger groups on the boardwalk. The 1.5yo in our group loved watching the ducks. For the adults, better to continue to Twin Lakes for a nicer hike experience, or at least to head along the Twin Lakes trail until you come out of the trees for a magnificent view of Silver Lake from above.

I enjoyed most of the hike, though I was underwhelmed with the actual lake which is pretty dry this time of year. Not nearly as scenic as Lake Blanche, Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, or many others in the canyons. I did, however, very much enjoy exploring the area around the lake, so I would allow for plenty of time at the top. The trail is well maintained, though the water and fallen leaves made it a little slick in areas. Great view of the canyon along the way. Saw a handful of moose right along the trail not far from the trailhead. This was my first moose sighting and it was probably a little more up close and personal than I would have liked, but it was pretty darn cool.

Short and easy. Certainly some beautiful colors this time of year and the waterfall is great. Unfortunately, for me this was a pretty unpleasant hike. I'm sure my timing didn't help (Saturday afternoon) but children under the age of 10 outnumber adults on this trail. There was not one moment of anything close to serenity. It felt like a cross between a beautiful hike and a Chuck E Cheese.

That being said, if I were hiking with a bunch of children, I would rate this trail 5/5.

Tons of fun. Plenty of wildlife -- saw deer and sheep right by the trailhead. Beautiful views all the way up and even more spectacular at the top. Mostly a moderate hike, though the altitude can make it pretty exhausting at times. Brought my small stubby-legged dog and he loved it. He only needed assistance for a couple of the larger rocks.

Highly recommended and one of the easier ways to reach such a high peak.

Mostly easy terrain as you're basically walking on an old mining road. Very little shade. Beautiful views along the way. I would likely have given more stars if I had gone during wildflower season, which seems to be when it looks most spectacular. The abandoned mining machinery adds an interesting treat at the end. Took me a little over an hour to get to the top and a half hour to get back down. I jogged much of the way down except for one portion that is particularly steep with loose rocks.
