2-17-15, nice gentle hike with some bouldering. Most large bouldrrs have side trails. Canyon was very cool in shade, a few climbers on rock wall near entrance.

2-17-15, awesome rock scramble and hike to top. When leaving TH, stay to right in river bed, you will come to trail that stays on a moraine with better views. Climb on the white and red rock for fun.

2-18-15, less than 5 miles R/T. Boulder scramble, 6 rope areas, hot springs and Colorado river, wore hiking boots down and teva sandles all the way back to car.

4 stars just because it lacks steeps, But this is a must do hike, you wade and cross water, trail and slot canyon hike. Small falls along the way, awesome for pictures. we hiked in on hiking boots and all the way out in our sandals w neoprene socks. People hiked the whole thing in tennis shoes, so do it if that is all you have.

The first ladder has metal rungs with rope to hold, the second ladder is wooden and two pieces, not for the weak at that point.

Water was low, never above knee in deepest hole.

A Bucket List hike, A little elevation, steeps, small climbs, awesome views! Spend time at the top and get good pictures. Very crowded but some people stop near the port-jons near the first set of steeps.

Hike after the bathrooms i not for the faint hearted!

A Bucket List Hike, 1 Oct, 2013 Follow flat trail to steep descending trail through red dirt and rock. Take a good look at the trail marker when you make it to the creek bed. The hike back goes quicker and I can see how people walk past the trail up to the TH. The pictures above explain this trail better than words. Boulder hop and lite trails on the way in. water was low when we went, huge trout in the wading pools.

Spend extra time in the Subway because the sunlight changes the color aspect. We spent a total of 6.5 hours and we determined it was not enough afterwards. Hiking boots worn all the way to the opening, depends on water flow. switched to sandals once we entered the subway.

About 3.0 hours to get to beginning, should be less cause we took lots of photos
Dont miss the Dinosaur Prints on huge white rocks about 1.5 hours in on left side.

Great for a quick walk/hike. Good Morel hunting, west side of park has rougher terrain.

Great place to walk your dog, trails are flat, great to run if you want to run in the park and not the pavement.

Trail 7 and 5 for hiking, can hike 5-7 miles if you combine both trails.
Eagle nest off of trail 7, although I think it is empty this year. (2012)
