One of our favourite hikes! Note: The entrance is very easy to miss and parking is extremely limited (1-2 cars in the small gravel driveway max). Otherwise you’re parking on the side of a moderately travelled side road avg speed 80-100km. The trail itself is labelled appropriately as moderate with some parts that involve climbing up steeper hills , across small/ narrow man made bridges and walking on parts of the road for short distances (depending on what loop you take). There are lots of opportunities to take well labelled short cuts to stay off the roads or to instead make the walk longer through the circuitous forest routes. There are chickadees but they aren’t abundant. Some small creeks throughout. No garbage cans or public toilets. Not overly crowded at all but you will see other hikers with/without dogs usually on every hike. The full perimeter walk including “the boot” takes approx 2 hours.

Amazing trails, the app worked very well. Address is 5317 Guelph Line, Burlington and on weekends you must pay to get in, (they accept debit) weekdays the pay booth is unmanned but payment via honour system is still expected. Check website for fees www.conservationhalton.ca. Beautiful cliff views, sometimes the paths near the cliff are very rocky and kind of close to the edge so make sure you keep your dog on-leash (if not exceptionally well trained). Note to dog owners there is only one main large garbage bin in the middle of the parking lot for waste. Parking is cramped on weekends and exit is from the middle lot (not well marked) ...you can’t exit where you entered via vehicle.
