Great trail! We ended up here much later than planned because it took us two hours to go 26 miles:( So we ended up getting here right after sunset and we had to park a mile away from the trailhead so added two miles to our hike. It was nice parking up at the parking lot further up the hill because you have a pathway along the road with a guardrail between you and the road the entire way and this allows you more views of the bridge during the extra hike. The trail itself is an easy wide dirt road that leads down to a campground next to the beach. It was one of the best views I've ever seen of the Golden Gate Bridge:) And the swing is the reason to go. We walked back in the dark but felt safe the entire way since it was a wide path and had the glow of the bridge to guide us. Lots of raccoons!:) We are looking forward to coming back during the day.

We loved this hike! Parked at the Carr/Feeley Lake campground parking lot- best to have a high clearance vehicle for the last couple miles up this road- we have a small suv and it was fine but would be rough in a car. There is a pit toilet inside the campground (not at the parking area) along Carr Lake. We started our hike a lot later than planned so we didn't make it to Round Lake but there was plenty to see in the short distance we hiked. We stopped at Carr Lake, Feeley Lake, Delany Lake (more like a pond - with catfish:), an unnamed lake (next to Island Lake), and Island Lake. Feeley lake and Island lake are beautiful. I could hang out there all day. We had a little bit of a traffic jam near Feeley Lake- we met up with a herd of cows along the trail:) Many of them wear cowbells so if you hear the sound of bells in the distance (sounds more like windchimes) the cows are near:) Such a nice surprise and a great memory:) There are so many beautiful lakes in such a short distance- we will definitely be coming back to see them all! Highly recommended:)
