I am not quite sure where the trailhead, but I followed a path to the left of the boat launch and followed the river as far as I could.

Beautiful meadow with lots of butterflies. Rocky here and there. Spiders but only if you went into the brush.

Trail was not marked and hard to follow, but there were many different paths and it wasn't hard to find my way back.

$12 to park, Restroom near the boat launch. Perhaps the ranger had a better map.

Nice spring hike for the butterflies and soft light. Well shaded but mosquitoes near the water and parts that were sunny. I'd probably come back here to get in the water. The trail wasn't amazing, but perfect for a light nature hike away from Sacramento.

    This is a fantastic hike!
GPS will take you to a residence where an older gentlemen is prepared to redirect you down the road.
There are some ascending parts of the trail that will elevate heartrate, but nothing difficult. Very peaceful, foresty, and the view at the end is amazing!
You will see Tahoe and trees for miles on the CA Side and then the desert Sierra's on the other side.
You can choose to climb the rocks at the end for an even more magnificent view.
All in all, a great experience and hits all the points that make a trail manageable to enjoy!
Dogs will love the hike too.
