Start early and bring lots of water! Also be sure to make the final hike up to the base of the lighthouse if you can.

    Quandary Peak - East Ridge
Started the hike at 5:30AM and got caught in a hailstorm halfway in. We took shelter below treeline and decided to bail out once we heard thunder. After hiking a bit, we turned around and noticed the clouds cleared up and decided to attempt the hike again. Once we were at the top it was perfect and not too windy!

    Handies Peak Loop (~14 miles)
Ascent: Handies Peak - East Slopes from the Grizzly Gulch/Silver Creek TH. Relatively easy hike up to this 14er with gorgeous views of Handies once you're above treeline. I chose this was to ascend because the shelf road on Cinnamon Pass already felt too sketch for me and I didn't want to keep going to the American Basin TH since I didn't have a 4x4 with high clearance.
Descent: Handies Peak - Southwest Slopes from the American Basin TH. I didn't want to descend down the class 2 route and decided to make it a loop trail by descending down the class 1 standard route. Pretty pretty hike.
I could have hitchhiked back to Grizzly Gulch but decided that to hike the road instead. If I had to choose one route, I would recommend going up the Grizzly Gulch side since it was prettier and more secluded. I even saw a moose at one point! As with all 14ers, start early.

Possibly my favorite hike in Colorado. I camped at Kendall campground the night before since the S. Mineral Campground has a fee. I started at sunrise and the trail was not crowded. Insanely *insanely* pretty.

I started this trail early in the morning and did dispersed camping along Guanella Pass. Beautiful hike and not crowded at all in the morning.

I accidentally started the trail on the small trail to the left of the trailhead that almost got me lost until I saw people on the actual trail ahead of me. Pretty hike though.

I started at dawn and had the lake all to myself for 10 minutes. Be sure to make the short hike up to Spouting Rock as well. As I made my way down I must have passed over 75 people making their way up. By 7AM the parking lot was full.
