Went on a sunny Saturday in September, so it was fairly busy, but ran into a lot of very respectful hikers. Lots of dogs on the trail, but most were leashed or had full voice control. I think we figured out the full hike was more like 7.5 miles and it starts off at a pretty steep incline. The view from the top is so worth it though!

This should be categorized as point to point not out and back. Completing the whole trail gets you to another trail entrance.
The trail is in very rough condition. Tons of downed trees in the path that have been there for an obviously long time. Lots of erosion, likely from too many hikers making "shortcuts". It's in a pretty sad state.
The bridge is pretty and the river is gorgeous but it's so overcrowded and you hear I-90 the whole hike you're really not immersed in nature whatsoever.

It's really not a difficult hike, I think it should be rated as moderate, it's just long. There were lots of downed trees that caused some difficulty as they're not tall enough to go under not short enough to go over. The snow/ice is also so deep this time of year and it was like walking on eggshells trying not to sink. Twice I stepped just a little off the trail and ended up waist deep in snow! My dog wiped out a couple times running and one leg sinking, causing her to trip. Kind of fun, added an element of alertness for the both of us. Payout at the end isn't much, but we didn't see anyone the whole way up or down so the quiet was nice. I probably won't do this one again anytime soon though.

It was pretty icy- doable without crampons but I'm glad I brought them. The ledge itself is a nice lookout but it's so crowded it takes away from the view. It was also pretty windy, I was getting pushed over when I wasn't in tree cover! A little dangerous on those steep cliffs.
All in all, it's a pretty quick hike with a well maintained trail that is heavily trafficked. Good for trail running with minimal roots and rocks that could trip you up. Not a hike I'll do again any time soon though.

Probably won't do this again. You don't get a really great view unless you trespass and it's just a crowded walk most days. There is a nice beach like area but that's the most it has to offer.

I love biking this trail with my dog. We stay in the Maple Valley portion of the trail and it's a lot quieter than the Renton portion. Some areas are notorious for drug use however. Lots of high school students also go out on the trails to smoke. We still like it though.
