Alexandra Chacara reviewed Wilderness of Rocks Trail

I've only ever hiked this trail during the warmer months so I've always found it to be much more difficult than my other trails. Definitely wear sturdy boots that you are COMFORTABLE in. There are many switchbacks, inclines, descents, and various terrain that will catch your breath. The variety of views and wildlife you will see are absolutely worth every step of this beautifully challenging trail.

Two separate hikes took my boyfriend and I through parts of this loop. We were met with beautiful views, incredible terrain and beautiful weather the times we have gone. I highly recommend this loop if you're looking for a decent hike with gorgeous and natural views.

I love this hike for initiating my loved ones! I've brought my family and boyfriend here, all of who have never really hiked much before or who haven't hiked in a really long time. It offers beautiful views all while providing an easy, paved road to walk upon. Along the way, there are a few off trail paths that dip into the cool running river that returns during the wetter months. If you get out of the way of the tram that periodically passes through along the road, you're sure to have a wonderful time!

I went a few years back during the wet season. I was curious and had never been before. But to my surprise, I was met with a lovely variety of terrain. There were parts of the trail that were completely flat, and others that were just boulders that needed climbing. Because the ponds and small bodies of water were filled, I had to do a bit more climbing than I had anticipated. The boulders were huge to scale but not entirely difficult for a beginner. I had decent boots. Definitely a nice hike for beginners looking for a somewhat challenging of a trail!

I underestimated this trail completely. The first half was perfect, with a decent incline, plenty of natural plant life and gorgeous views on the ascent. But the second half nearly knocked the wind out of me. The incline was so steep, that my footing gradually became harder as I feared I would topple backwards. The views are absolutely worth it though, especially at sunset!
