Alexandra Aruba de Arroyo reviewed Mount Hunger Waterbury Trail

I've hiked this at least a dozen times and it remains one of my favorites. Definitely challenging, and I would not recommend bringing small children or big dogs as the trail is very rocky and can be slippery. The last leg of the climb is almost exclusively small rockface, so be prepared to get your hands dirty as you clamber up to claim your reward: the amazing VIEWS. Unbeatable. The small waterfalls are about 1/3 of the way up and offer a great place to rest and take some photos. I've seen bears twice on this hike, but both times they were uninterested and scurried off. Well maintained, beautiful hike that takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to get up depending on your pace.
