Great experience once you are over a mile into it. Highway noise goes away and the trail has a smooth, winding and wooded beauty to it. Good for challenging your elevation gains! Lots of bikes on the weekend, going to run this on a weekday to see how that goes:)

Great trail! Right by roads but far enough away that at times you feel “in the mountains:” :)

I’ve seen 5 or 6 rattlesnakes in warm months. Watch your step

Love this trail, hit it all the time but still can’t run up it without getting so winded I️ have to stop! lol Great exercise and always a challenging ascent if your going for conditioning!

For Tori, another trail just past this one, at Lair of the Bear, is Bear Creek trail to Panorama Point. If you like this trail I️ think you’d also like that one. About 1 mike in civilization fades away and the trail is ALL nature sounds and GORGEOUS wooded scenery!!!

Convenient and well worn trail. Busy on weekends, go m-f for quiet traffic:)

I personally don’t like traffic noise while hiking or trail running, but this is historically fun and educational area! Be sure to stop in to the little museum for dinosaur Ridge:)

4 stars because of the multitude of trails! I️ have run over a thousand miles just in this park, there are SO many combinations of trails you can run almost any desired distance once you have figured out and mapped them all! It’s generally flat unless you decide to run up the big hill separating the park from the golf course. And you can stay by the river in the lake adding beautiful sights and sounds to your run. I spot a herd of deer or buck regularly❤️ extremely light traffic Monday through Friday mornings. Snow and rains dry quickly. Free parking across C-4 70 at the entrance to Bandimere Speedway. A well trafficked park-and-ride.

Parts of the trail hold ice (or mud) for a long time, but hey! That’s nature:) awesome trail for being so close to town! Scenic view is nice, FYI it faces town. Happy trails ~
