$15 $40 reviewed Thompson County Park Trails

Walked the paved loop. I really liked it. Nice open fields most of the way, little bit of boardwalk, tiny bit in the woods, tiny bit by the lake. The long stretch along E Main street was kinda lame, but the other half of the trail was very enjoyable. It could've also been that I was out on a perfect fall day and that made me like the walk more than I otherwise would.

Nice walk on the beach. Calm and peaceful in October.

Nice leisurely bike ride. Easy to follow and wide trail. Don't expect any mind-blowing views. Would be a great trail for trail running.

Take a picture of the trail map before you head out. Around the group campgrounds, the orange blazes disappear for some reason.

Nice little hike. Still not sure what the devil's oven is supposed to be.

Little spiderweb of trails, Take a picture of the trail map to help yourself out. Pleasant walk in the woods and the beginnings of some nice fall colors.

It's kind of a short little dinky trail, but I really liked it. The fall colors were just beginning to show themselves and the weather was great. The railroad trail was also a little bit elevated, so probably stays dry after rain.

Nice little hike. The western half mile back to HWY 80 is unmarked, but easy enough to follow. Blue blazes are placed frequently enough to make it fairly easy to stay on trail.

Not really a loop, which threw me a little bit on this one. Trail is very well-marked and easy to follow with the blue blazes. I think I turned around barely before the southern end where it hits River Rd. Was waiting for the trail to take a turn and head back north, but it never did and I gave up on it happening. Trail had a nice amount of rocks thrown in for variety, although they were a bit slippery and I almost ate it twice. Mosquitoes were still out and so was the poison ivy...

Nice and easy to follow loop. Great for kids or older folks. Can get a little muddy and slippery in the day or two following rain.

Short little walk, little bit of marshy area and a boardwalk. Saw some deer. Playground for the kids.

Not a whole lot to see, but a well-maintained, nice walk for about 2.5 miles, maybe a little less. Trails are well-marked and easy to follow. Not a lot of social trails to get sidetracked on.

Nice ride on the bike path. Lots of roadway sounds since you parallel it along with the creek. Not much for parking on either end of this small section. Probably easier to park up further north.

The athletic fields look great, but the walking/running paths are kind of beat. Not much to see, except for all the dudes sitting in their cars in the parking lot, waiting for....

Nice little walk in the woods. A little bit of variety between the fields and the woods, and the big trees are nice. If it's your first time here, you'll want to grab one of the maps from a trailhead. There are a lot of trail junctions that are not marked or not well-marked. Wasn't too busy on the southern section. Deer hunting season just started, so be aware of that from Oct-Feb.

Trail map makes it a lot easier to find your way. The variety of trails here is nice. Different types of trees, etc. The playgrounds and tennis courts are nice too.

A nice little mix of trails here. You will definitely want to get one of the trail maps to take with you on your walk. The signage is not that great. The park seems to have some nice play equipment and facilities too

A lot of social trails in the area makes staying on the 'correct' path a little tricky. But as long as you know where the creek is, you're fine. Trail does go down to the creek. Lots of trees means that you don't get big sweeping views down to the creek all the way long. Probably nicer in fall with some colors.

A kinda confusing spiderweb of trails, so make sure you take a map for navigation. No views or nothing, but relatively wide trails and far fewer people on a Saturday morning than Hartshorne Woods. Mostly flat with a few gentle grades.

Not much for scenery, but a nice walk in the woods. Be sure to grab one of the trail maps. It can be a little confusing finding your way around. I prefer the farm path section since it's a bit more open.

    $15 $40 reviewed Grand Loop

Mostly level, but there is a little bit of up and down on the northern part of the trail. The trail signs in the parking lots are not very helpful, but the signs on the Grand Loop trail itself are nice with little maps and "You are here" arrows.

Trail is wide and maintained for the most part. There are a few narrower spots where you will brush up against vegetation, so you need to check yourself for ticks.
