Moderately steep at points but incredible view from the summit. Definitely a bukit, not a gunung

I found this hike to be straightforward and easy. My friend and I ordered a grab to the start of the trail/road. When we entered, we had to pay RM$1 and sign into a log book (this was at 12:30. A different hiker came in at 14:00 and no one was there to charge him). From there, you just follow the road up and right before the lighthouse, there is a trail to the right (the hiking trail!). The hiking path is very clear. You keep following it until you see a cluster of rocks. After the quick scramble up, you’re at the incredible view. It only took us 20 minutes. We left the same way we came and never did the full loop.

Super fun and challenging hike. They say the trail is “closed” and it has been marked this way for years....note that the trails is still easily accessible and open. Just keep going. There a couple trees to hop over and some bridges with boards missing that you can easily scramble across. The entire hike is accessible and fun. There are little shops on the beach to get refreshments part way through, too!

Awesome hike here. Moderately difficult, feels like you are either going up or down with very little “flat” hiking. That said, it’s really a fun hike with great trail conditions. The trail is open and the beach is really beautiful. If you go about 300m up the beach there is an cool little turtle sanctuary to check out.

Zero maintenance on this otherwise great trail and facilities. What a shame Perhilitan. Get out of your hammocks and grab a chainsaw

Easy hiking

WARNING: the trail to monkey beach is still, even after 2 years, only accessible till the USM research station. Monkey beach itself is accessible, vendors are present (at least in weekends), and you can swim at this beach. From the boat, the garbage wasn’t evident on the beach/waterline. Looked clean (might be different around the vendor’s stalls). We opted to start at the entrance, hike to Kerachut, took a boat to drop us off at USM, and hiked back to the entrance. This trail is very easy but isn’t that nice as Kerachut. Partial views on the ocean, lots of stairs going a bit up and down again.

Fairly easy hike if weather is dry. Nice and quiet environment. Less crowded on weekdays. The route is a combination of concrete steps and packed earth or mud (dry or wet weather). The concrete is in many places washed out by previous rainfall. At the end of the trail, at Turtle Beach, you can visit the turtle hatchery for free. Opt to continue walking to Teluk Kampi or cross the beach and loop back towards the same trail. Or you can take a speedboat at the pier to Monkey Beach / USM research station / park entrance (fee 40-50 MYR pp, to be requested/negotiated before starting, no cell phone coverage at Kerachut Beach).

Easy hike except for the rock climbing which abt 150m up from the beach. Excellent view from top. There are few beaches and accessible while hiking. Beach at Pulau intan is very nice & we had a picnic there !!! Very few people at the beach since hiking requires to access the beach. Met a guy who is building a makam there !! So please be respectful during this hike. Please bring garbage bags & help to collect all the plastics bottle. Good place for a family hike & beach activity. Will go again soon.

Can walk to a clean beach.

This trail is badly in need of some maintenance as there are numerous trees blocking the path which can make it quite tricky to get on the right track. The trail is extremely steep in places which makes it quite treacherous especially when descending

There are nice butterflies in the foret along the beach. We saw also 2 big wild boars. We cross almost no people for hours but we feel quite safe.

This was an ok trail but incredibly busy (we went on a Saturday), probably also not helped by the monkey beach trail being closed. The walk itself is clear and easy to follow with quite a few uphill sections. We would have enjoyed this more had it been less busy. The beach at the end was lovely and we chose to take a boat back from here rather than walk back through the park.

The trail is challenging in particular going further to Teluk Campi Beach. It is another steep climb and even steeper descent to the beach. We opted taking a boat back (can be arranged when getting to the beach). Expect to pay around 120RM one way from Teluk Campi

Sometimes steep hike through dry forest. We much preferred Botanic Garden. Can take boat back, $40USD, should book at entry. Beach is pleasant, turtle sanctuary worth a look

Tue Nov 06 2018

It was a great hike and and can choose to take a boat back to the starting point instead of hike back as there will be some uphill in the beginning but after that it will be good.

easy trail which follows the coastline to monkey beach, then it's a 20 steap walk up steps to the lighthouse. allow 3 hours for a return trip

For groups with kids or uninitiated hikers, both Bukit Batu Putih summit and the Cape Rachado lighthouse are easily accessible via tarmac road (gradient about 15%-20%). Otherwise trail junkies are in for a treat. The secluded beaches, great views of the sea and the perpetual ocean breeze are refreshing for a change, if you're used to trails around KL.
