Incredibly challenging 3 day hike. Day 1 and Day 3 are the same 9km in and out through relatively flat jungle. You are dropped off by boat and make your way to base camp. Day 2 is a geographically very short, scramble up limestone with and elevation gain of about 1.2km over the 2.4km distance. If you don’t make the checkpoints by the cut-off times you can’t continue. It is well worth the challenge though. Take heaps of water and a change of socks.

Easy trail with soft incline. 700m elevation gain as opposed to 5,000m (not sure why it changed to 5,000m after completing the trail). Leech is present.

This is an A to B hike beginning from the ranger’s hut at Bukit Putus and ending at the ranger’s hut at Ulu Bendul, although it can be tackled the other way around. The start is steep and involves stairs at first but after half an hour and a rest are the trail becomes more manageable. There are 2 view points in the way up to the peak. The decent is longer with 2 river crossings. To get back to the starting point you’ll need to walk along the highway. Permits can be purchased on the spot for RM5/hiker until the ranger’s hut closes at around 11am on weekdays and a little later than that on weekends.

G Liang is a challenging hike. The mossy forest at peak is just reward.

I love this one. Can be a bit tricky, but definitely one of the best. Did it with baby and toddler in backpack. The most important is to get enough water and snacks, and do not forget your swimsuit.
