Hi everyone! We ended our trip to Zion early and we still have shuttle tickets left to resell. For tomorrow (11/26) we have tickets for the 7am and 11am time slots. The 7am tickets are perfect if you'd like to avoid crowds; tomorrow will be a crowded day. Please reach out if you're looking for last-minute morning tickets, my email is nereida.arjona.cr@gmail.com -- thanks! :)

Definitely a unique experience. My twin 17 year old boys, my husband, and I all really enjoyed it. We rented dry pants/shoes/neoprene socks/pole from Zion Guru. I was afraid it would be so cold and definitely layered up, but it wasn’t! It was very comfortable even though outside temp was in the thirties. I’m in great shape but I’m not going to lie, I was pooped when we finished. We went in 4 miles and back (total time 4:15 including a lunch break and pics and such). The water got up to my hip and I’m 5’5”. I was grateful for the gear! We took the 7:30am shuttle and I’m so glad we did. We hardly had any folks hiking with us - until we turned around to come back! The first deep spot is only a few minutes in, so if you thought you’d go a bit without gear, I wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t forget to buy Zion shuttle tickets! Enjoy!

Amazing experience! We made it to boulder pair before having to turn back. Our group of 3 rented full wetsuits for the 70 CFS water. I am 5'4" (the two others in my group are 5'8") and we were extremely happy to have the full suit and two neoprene socks. There were sections where we all could not touch the ground and were relying on the suit to keep us afloat. We stayed very dry and warm throughout the day. The only portion of my body that was cold were my hands. The rental stick is CRITICAL. The bottom of the narrows is extremely rocky and it was extremely tiring to walk upstream and attempt to maintain balance. We saw two guys make it all the way to big springs with just bibs but they were at least 6"1'. We had no problem getting tickets the morning before. The rental company said business was slower so we were able to return our gear the next morning.

WalkingGreat!

My husband and I hiked this trail on November 19th. We wore full dry suits mostly because we wanted to be able to experience the river to its fullest, with no fear of getting wet due to water levels on route. Our pace was steady and moderate and we hiked into the narrows for about 2 1/2 hours total. We appreciated the full dry suits as there were a couple of sections/places the water level was about 4 1/2 to 5’ deep. Hiking The Narrows is an incredible, unique and exhilarating experience. The canyon walls are amazing throughout this hike. To us, it wasn’t so much being in the water, is was the experience of hiking between massive canyon walls, ever changing in shape, texture, color, design, distortion, and extreme size and height. Again, they are massive! And every one of them unique and incredibly beautiful. This hike isn’t easy. It takes a tremendous amount of energy, and requires hiking with intentional footing. We are in excellent shape, and handled this hike well, however we were exhausted by the time we hiked back to the beginning, and then the additional hike back to catch the shuttle... we definitely enjoyed our hot tub at the end of the day.

Nice hike! Good to have/rent waterproof bib, neoprene socks, boots, and stick. Make sure to leave early. Took us 4h to get to Big Spring (one way).

I completed the full 10 miles on 11/18. For the 8 miles Narrows section (not including the Riverwalk section) it took us 6 hours and we moved quite fast with very a few short breaks. we rented the boots and full drysuit which we had to bring back by 4 pm. We left our hotel in Springdale around 7 am and back to the gear rental place at 3:30 pm. I was nervous about it being cold but I was never cold with the gear, if anything I got a tad toasty for a bit. i wore yoga pants, long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt under the gear. I was determined to make it to the waterfall but honestly I'd recommend just going to wall street section... we were exhausted by the end of it and found wall street to be the best part. Highly recommend starting as early as possible... we had the canyon to ourselves going in. started seeing a few people coming back and then a flood of people at the end of the day. Great experience, highly recommend going and renting the gear! oh also when you get to the big Boulder in the middle, hug the right and you'll be just fine... if you have the full suit. I tried going to the left and ended up swimming, which was fun but obviously didn't work, then found hugging the right side of the canyon worked fine with water around my chest height (I'm 5'8").

I did this trail on Nov 16th. The water is higher this time of year due to run off from snow and frozen ground. Definitely rent the dry pants and boots/neoprene socks at the least. A few notes on the gear: the boots and socks are not intended to keep your feet dry. Their purpose is to help keep you from slipping on the rocks and getting blisters. With the pants, you want to cinch them tight against your skin, and do not tuck your shirt in. If you get into high water, pull your shirt/jacket up above the water and the pants will keep the water out. If your shirt is tucked in, you’ll get water in your pants. I stopped about 1 mile from Big Springs because the water was up to the chest/neck of the people in front of me. If you want to make it all the way to BS, I’d recommend renting one of the full suits (not a bib) in town - or being ok with getting soaked. Overall, an amazing hike and highly recommend!

Narrows is a must-do experience. The AllTrails map is horrendous though, in my opinion. I tried to navigate without recording and instead using the landmarks on the map, which is what I always do. We mistook Imlay Temple for House Rock, because we hadn’t yet seen the intersecting rivers shown on the map. Those rivers are high up or underground and cannot be seen inside the narrows. As a result, we ended up turning around less than a half mile before Big Springs, because we thought we hadn’t even reached Imlay yet. So I suggest you either use a satellite map or try recording. I’m not sure about Big Springs, but my recommendation to people on the trail was to go past the big rock in the water (which is Imlay), then go through the narrow section that follows, and then you have seen the coolest stuff. I was not cold at all in mid November using the rented boots and dry pants, and all but my feet stayed dry. The stick is essential. This hike is very strenuous, navigating over unseen, slippery boulders, and you end up covering a lot more distance zig-zagging to avoid deep water. It took us 6 hours to get to almost Big Springs and back, with only about a 15 min break. One section went above my waist (I’m 6’0), but I was able to avoid getting my shirts wet and water being sucked into my pants by pulling up my jacket/shirts above the waterline. If you leave it tucked in and the water goes above your waistband, you will get water in your pants. Trail wasn’t bad at 0900, but was packed on our way out (finished at 3 pm). I didn’t even need gloves or a jacket.

Amazing! We rented special shoes, socks and pants in order to stay more or less dry. The recording is inaccurate. We hiked ~10 miles over the course of the recording. The water is VERY cold - several people fell in so maybe bring an extra shirt or two with you. Bring snacks too! You’ll be hiking for quite a while.
