the trail is easy but the climb down into the lava was more than my 6 year wanted/could handle.

Hiked this with my 6 and 2 year old little girls. They loved it both of them where able to climb and explore.

Great views of lava rock, flowers, caves and mountains. Not much shade and very hot in the summer.

We did the walk from 4pm to 6pm. Amazing surroundings with distinctively variety of views of hoodoos.

You can make this trail as easy or hard as you want to; the trail outlined here is pretty steep, but there are places less steep to make it up. Gorgeous; and we were the only ones out on the trail.

Definitely worth it! Less known and less crowded than the other hikes. Saw a great herd of bighorn sheep on the way. A great place to cool off with some fun rock climbing and rocks to jump off of into the pools.

Definitely not easy on the way back up but beautiful!

Incredible! The views above and below are magical! The ascent is challenging, but easily done with a short break or two.

This was an easy breezy hike with some amazing views of the hoodoos. The trail breaks off to other trails with clear signs all along the way. You hike down first and then back up.

Great hike. Make it easier by starting at the switchbacks

Did this today and loved it! Reasonably trafficked, but not so much that you didn’t have some peace and quiet too. Amazing scenery and not too tricky! Proper boots would be recommended if you have them though :)

Great hike, we returned by the navajo loop switchbacks at Wall Street, definately would have been easier to return by Queens trail.

Amazing trail! My old father in law, who is a fairly experienced hiker, said it was the best hike he’s ever done.

Stunningly beautiful and peaceful. Unfortunately hiked it alone, would be a fun experience with loved ones.

This trail is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Great views of the canyon and absolutely exhilarating with the large drop offs and hairpin switchbacks.

I did this hike on 7/20 and as of today, 7/21, I was informed by a ranger that the trail is CLOSED due to a rock fall.

Outstanding!!!

Gorgeous scenery, one of the best hikes I’ve ever done. Get there early to beat the crowds.

The scenery is candidly unbelievable. The crowds are a bit much, particularly those who leave the trails right past the signs and hide behind “no English” as an excuse.

good intro walk on first day

The begin is very steep but getting to the area where you hold on to chains and try to keep from slipping was very fun! Combined with observation point this trail is wonderful

Good moderate hike - take the Wallstreet route to get a real climbing experience - worth the time doing!

Truly wonderful hike. Some of the same wonderful rock formations you would see at Bryce, but without the crowds. I also like that it is uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back, which is the opposite of hiking in Bryce Canyon. I did this starting from the clearly marked trailhead at milepost 3 on Hwy 12, just before the Red Canyon Visitor Center. The trailhead has a restroom, but no water. This trail is obviously used for mountain biking and horseback riding, but I was the only one on the trail this morning. Evidence of the past presence of horses is abundant, but not bothersome.

For the first 1.4 miles you are walking gradually uphill on a nice path, with pleasant but not spectacular scenery. After reaching a junction, and continuing on the Thunder Mountain trail, things get really interesting. There is a slightly steep uphill with switchbacks and then you are walking along a ridge, rolling up and down, with beautiful views in all directions. At about 2.4 miles, there is a side trail for Inspiration Point, which goes up to a wonderful viewpoint in about .3 miles. It's absolutely worth the extra effort. I followed the Thunder Mountain trail for 3.1 miles and then turned around. I could see a radio tower on top of a peak in the distance, and that might be where the trail was headed. I'm have no idea of the location of the Thunder Mountain peak, and the folks at the Visitor Center didn't know either, but maybe I can find it on another trip.

We've done this hike several times and finally thought to bring some headlamps. The caves are nice and cool so if you bring water you will be fine out in the sun. Fun for kids to discover.

Great hike. A little tricky in a few areas but well worth the adventure! Amazing pic opportunities and the water felt amazing!

Worth the trip!

Beautiful - a good decent and ascent at the beginning and end but otherwise very easy to explore around and walk.

Beautiful hike! If hiking we think it is better to do counter clockwise. We were the only hikers, two mountain bikes and 6 people on horse back. Loose rock and some steep climbs make somewhat technical. Would do it again.
