Trail is good, but watch out for pothole "minefield" on the way up/down the 1.5 mi Mt Pilchuck Access Road to the trailhead! Go very slowly, and even then it's impossible to avoid the masses of scattered potholes. Pray for your car.

Not too much variety in scenery...good workout, and well maintained trail but no views until the top.

TRAIL IS CURRENTLY CLOSED! There are rangers who hang around the trailhead and up at the lake who will write you a ticket.

It was a beautiful hike. But for dog owners beware of the rocks that could be too hot for your dogs paws.

it was great hiking and you will find it really hard. but after reaching on the top you won't regret at all. its amazing view. stay hydrated is the most important thing and keep some food with you.

Pretty gradual with switch backs the whole way. The whole trail is shaded. took me about 3.5 hours I believe.

This trail was great. It was very rocky all the way to the lake, but the view was worth it. For newcomers, it’s a hike uphill almost the entire way to the lake. If you’re not going over rock which is most of the trail, you are going over roots. The lake is worth the uphill trek. You might think about bringing sandwiches and having a picnic at the top.

love it! beautiful and peaceful place

Hard, but worth it. Amazing views

The Mount Si trail is a decent trail to hike. There are minimal scenic views throughout the trail because it’s mainly wooded. When you get to the top of the trail you finally get to see mountain and valley views. If you want the best seat in the house, go around to the back side of haystack and make the climb up. It’s a little challenging and should be done with caution, But if you make it to the top of haystack it makes the boring first hour and a half of the hike worth it.

Love that it’s consistently steep and mostly shaded. The opening at top to panoramic views is an epic payoff.

Great trail! Backpacked my 2 year old the entire 6 miles. Easy, minimal elevation. Beautiful views of the river most of the trip. Shady, sandy beach area towards the end where we stopped for lunch. Only complaint was dog owners not picking up poop.

This is a must do trail. A lot of switchbacks but the climb is relatively easy and the view is amazing. A yearly must do...

July 8, 2018: Ah yes, bugs, snow, and VIEWS!!! The snow patches' well beaten paths are passable without spikes or poles; just be cautious of the water below the paths weakening the snow, not that you'll fall to your death or anything, it'd just be an inconvenience. One dead end path to note, but it was an easy remedy.
Other than that it's pretty straight forward. I would call it the lower end of a hard rating.
A clear day like today provides amazing views of Baker, Glacier, Shuksan, and even Rainier.

Does anybody know when the trail is open again?

Did this trail in the rain and it was still amazing! There is a lot of climbing over tree stumps and rocks though, a little hard on the knees coming down. But the lake is a view you can't miss!

We did this hike with a 6 year old, 4 year old, and a 2 year old (in a backpack). And we didn't get all the way to the end. Our kiddos got tired, But it was a beautiful hike. Lots of trees and small streams. We really enjoyed this one. We would definitely do it again. The parking lot is also a good size. There were a lot of people on the trail. But it wasn't insane. Bug spray is definitely a good idea.

Not my favorite hike in the area, climbing the rocks at the end was fun & the view is pretty but I prefer others.

Not for the faint at heart but worth it in the end. Lots of rocks and a lot of climbing but the view from the top is great. Rough for anyone with back injuries or who may be out of shape but, a great workout and great views!

steep and challenging hike but worth it once you get to the waterfall

The falls are magnificent.

Great trail well maintained. Although I would not recommend for kids 8 years and below. It’s not a difficult trail but it has too many rocks and very slippery. Once you get to the top it is worth the hike. Beautiful lake and waterfalls. Make sure you bring bug spray

Grueling hike to the summit. Beautiful falls on the way and an awesome view at the top.

Good hike and thank goodness for my All Trails Map, we took a wrong turn and was able to find our way around with the app!

TRAIL IS CLOSED FOR LOGGING until August!!!!!

Washington Trails Association update that the trail will be closed through August 31st.

Such a bummer this is by far one of the most beautiful and rewarding hikes!

Love this trail. It is great for a summer day trip. You can do his trail in just a couple of hours and the wildflowers are abundant if you go at the right time. It gets really muddy so waterproof boots are recommended but not a total must. A couple of nice big camping spots are on the west side of the lake and would be great for tent and hammock camping. Highly trafficked trail so if you are looking to meet people instead of get away from them, go here.

Harder than expected but not so hard cannot be achieved by a relatively fit person who only occasionally hikes. One key... make sure you have a discover pass or parking pass before getting there as limited parking and place to purchase.
