There's faster ways to get to Columbia Rock by way of cross country hiking if the park still permits it? If you're going to go up the oak tree switchbacks, you mine as well take the upper Yosemite Falls trails to really get some cool views.

Best time to hike Illiloutte Falls is in the spring when the falls is in full volume!

In April & May when the falls are in full volume then the hike is a must. Also, in the winter when the falls are iced over, the hike is a must to watch the ice climbers!

This easy peasy trail used to be packed with tourist when there was more water. Still, it is a beautiful trail to visit, especially in the winter on snowshoes! :-)

Do this trail at night during a full moon. No people and beautiful!

Easy with beautiful views. But, there's more! Take the PANORAMA Trail from Glacier Point for even more beautiful views. You will end up spilling out at the horse trail behind Nevada Falls back into Yosemite Valley or you can take the steep Vernal Falls shortcut too then meet the gang who drove you up to Glacier Point back in Yosemite Valley.

Fairly easy, well trafficked even in winter. Nice views looking up! Some small streams to cross and one spot with scrambling in the winter. Best spots are after the lake when it gets quiet!

We came in early during rainy day and had the whole trail to ourselves ( haven’t run into anybody). Walking among these magnificent trees, engulfed in a fog was an amazing experience.

Beautiful views of the valley. We used this loop in August as a leg-stretch the day after we did Half Dome. Flat and very easy, and you can do whatever parts of the loop you want to do and make it however short or long you want, really.

Pretty trail in winter.

Simple and beautiful! Perfect Sunday trail to enjoy and reflect on the beauty God has created for us all.

Short and sweet! Easy walk to the bottom of the falls.

Really fast if you know what you are doing.

Was quick and easy... nice view!

Easy hike overall with rock scramble right when you get to the top. Beautiful views from the top. Lightly trafficked throughout.

Closed for the season as of 12/30/18

beautiful fall. very short and worth doing with kids

we did it in December with little kids. really worth it. easy trail but it's a grove so you have to go down... and then up... but you get to see a lot of sequoias. good winter alternative to mariposa grove

not really a hike but a short walk but worth stopping and checking specially if you have little kids as we do. they loved it. we did it on December and it was impressive. the little creek was frozen adding additiona attractive

lovely easy hike, not much of a lake but the views and that forest is totally worth it.

Fairly easy, though there is a paved road side and an unpaved side that’s a little more challenging.

Great views of half dome. Areas to stop and throw rocks in the water, if that’s of interest. Decent picnic type hike. Still open and clear in the winter.

Park at north pines camp ground if you can. There’s also a shuttle stop if you are able to get on the shuttle.

Best hike. I have been doing this hike since I was a kid and now get to explore it with my boyfriend and dog. Tiny section with rock climbing but amazing areas where you can jump into the river

Not hard at all if you usually hike. I mean it's only a mile. you dont even have to be a hiker, just someone who can walk a mile haha.

Hard not to give every hike in Yosemite 5 stars, this is a super easy short hike but great to see lower Yosemite falls, we did this back in October so the falls were just a trickle but beautiful regardless

Just beautiful. Not many people in the winter months, at least, so a peaceful walk alongside the river. Stunning rock scapes and a scenic bridge over the river at the half way point. The mirror image was worth everything!

Make sure you rock scramble to the left of the Falls. There you can get away from some the crowds as well as see the Yosemite waterfall pool at the bottom. It’s a perfect snack or picnic stop with the mist hitting you.

We didn't park at the correct trail head so we added an extra mile but besides that, the trail is paved and very beautiful. It just rained this morning (dec 18th) so the flow was strong!
