Half dome has been in my bucket list for years. I need 2 permits please. Hotlikepho@gmail.com many thanks
Hey I've been longing to go hiking on this trail for a looong time. It would be amazing if I could tag along with any group of people. Please email me! email: vincent.tran765@gmail.com
this was a nice moderate hike. my Garmin said 5.2 miles out and back. very impressive falls and you get right up close.
Great steady incline. We went up to Yosemite point only 1mile above the top of the falls. TOTALLY worth the extra little hike!!!
Some downed trees but nothing as bad as the other comments describe. I crossed over maybe 10/15 trees to see some great views!
Great views throughout the entire trail. Definitely one of Yosemite’s hidden gems.
Great trail! Absolutely beautiful! Had a great time and enjoyed every step of the way!! Barley anybody here when we got here and super crowded on the way down. Super beautiful though!
Yes I won a lottery for 4 on July 4 this year .
Did it on 04/10/2021. Very heavily trafficked. Views up too are pretty good but much better at Yosemite point. Start upto Columbia Rock is pretty intense (600ft elevation), gets easy for a bit after that and then a steep climb to finish it off. Tip: Start early if you wanna wrap it up in a day.
Hello everyone! Unfortunately didn’t get a permit :/. My buddy and I have been longing to get on top of this amazing rock. If anyone has two extra permits at any date in June, we would love to tag along! Email: michaelforbess@live.com
Perfect weather. Great hike.
Amazing hike. Start early to avoid crowds
Hey everyone, heartbroken to find out I didn’t get picked for the lottery. If anyone is going in June that wants to help (or sell to) 3 very grateful people out. It would be soooo appreciated danielgiannosa@gmail.com
Not many people due to covid protocol. pretty quiet out there.
Hi everyone! I unfortunately did not win the lottery drawing for this year. Is it dramatic to say that my heart genuinely hurts? Lol If anyone has a open spot and would allow me to tag along, I would be so happy. 562-544-5498 Instagram: @kelzsmilez Happy Trails!
This was an amazing and very challenging hike. The views and waterfalls are breathtaking! Be ready to work climbing up.
Amazing! Loop was closed but the waterfalls were well worth the climb
Best trail ever
Absolutely fantastic!!!
The trail itself was breathtaking! You hike pass 2 amazing waterfalls and then through the little valley and alongside the river. We did this route April 9th and the cables are still down so we only hiked to the sub dome and were able to touch them. Others have gone up all the way with the right gear but unfortunately we didn’t have that. When we got to the base of the sub dome where the 400ft of stairs are there was still tons of snow covering it all. We were able to trek up the side on the snow but it was pretty sketchy and dicey at times. Only used hiking boots but used old deep footprints to keep feet secure in the snow. The top was more than I had imagined. With half dome right in your face and the panoramic view of mountains surrounding you, it makes it all worth it. Also perk of hiking it out of season is the solitude and having the whole peak to yourself. Maybe passed 3 people after the waterfalls. The trek down sub dome was much sketchier than going up but we took it very slow and steady. Then the whole hike back was beautiful again but as always, hard on the knees. Overall, amazing hike that will make your calves sore for a few days and get you to experience a rare opportunity to have half dome to yourself.
I regret starting so late, Thursday at 11am, lots of people, many groups going very slow. Get there as soon as the sun rises and you should be one of the first to the top. Bring a blanket and lots of food to have lunch at the top. If you have a water filter there are several streams along the way
Went 4/9/21 - started at 7am to beat the crowds. A couple hours later masses of people started showing up so i spent 5 hours resting at the top on the merced river shore, lots of boulders in the shade to lay on, great place to take a nap/ have lunch. Also please pack your trash and don't feed the wildlife
