really pretty walk through the canyon, wildflowers are fading but still nice.
Quick, easy walk through the woods to the overlook area. One of the best views of the valley (summer 2020)
Easy hike, more of a walking trail along the eastern edge of the lake. Beautiful area
At the “summit,” there’s a view similar to the one at Tunnel Point but better and higher up. It’s steep on the way up, then goes down a ways, which means you also have to hike uphill on the way down. If you’re willing to do the extra work, it’s definitely worth it! FYI there is no actual “point” but you’ll know you’re there when you see a spectacular wide-open view.
The poppies are gone but it's still pretty
Quick, easy hike to see really interesting rock formations.
lovely easy hike! go!!!!
Completed this trail on a Saturday in early April 2021. The wild flowers were very beautiful along the trail. I also saw a salamander! The view is pretty much the same from start to finish, still beautiful. To echo a few others: best to go out there in the early morning, as there is little shade; and trail is one lane, be careful as you step off the side of the trail to let others pass.
This is a really amazing trail going up and down along a rushing river. Direct access to the river is possible at at least two locations. The sheer variety of wildflowers is astonishing. I recommend to hike the trail all the way to its end because of the ever-changing scenery. There are a few rough patches and downed trees but they do not pose any problems. I met only a couple of other hikers on this trip on a beautiful afternoon.
loved it! was on the trial by 7:15, good thing as it was packed by 9:30. very narrow single track along the river with tons of wildflowers (not just poppies!). we got there so early most of the poppies weren't open but still fabulous! cool at the start but warm by 10am.
It was a beautiful hike did get hot as the day went on. Now it’s hiking season so a lot of people are on the trail this time of year. It is steep so be aware. Good hike!!
Beautiful wildflowers and river views! Get there early the trail is narrow and gets crowded.
Beautiful wildflowers with stunning views of the river. I would suggest going early morning as it became quite hot on our hike back out.
This is such a hidden gem. the wildflowers in full bloom were just icing on the cake. The trail is narrow and one has to follow single file. We saw people had trampled the wild shrubs and flowers in order to make way for the two way traffic. Please be careful not to. Most areas, there are spots we can stop at to make for foot traffic. I definitely want to go back.
Pretty sunny all the way, beautiful wild flowers
Trail was lightly trafficked, Sudden steep incline to the top of the dome is rough to start but completely worth it once you make it to the top!
Hite Cove.
Great trail, beautiful wild flowers, inviting river.
Beautiful scenery and wildflowers. We arrived about 7:30 and had the place to ourselves. Definitely very narrow and steep but worth it! Directions take you to Cedar Lodge but trail is actually 3 miles further east at the Red Bud Lodge. There are signs to the trail at the lodge
Absolutely beautiful. Poppy’s and wild flowers, rushing water and calm pools. Nice ups and downs mixed along!
We hiked this trail with 6 & 4 yr olds... the very beginning was steep and dangerous for little kids but we took it slow and moved cautiously. The rest of the hike was easy, but as others have indicated, there are no signs- just stay to the left at the intersections and you’ll be fine. The final .25 mile is downhill (old wawona rd). We were the only people at Artist Point, so we were able to take some great family pictures...so remember to bring your selfie stick!
Nice trail, parts are difficult, most is easy. Very little shade.
Nice. But, hot in early April this year. Carry enough water. Lookout Rock, Swirly Rock, Pan-Mill Site and Hite's Cove
Whew amazingly hot today! Beautiful hike Narrow trail with a bunch of poison oak. But the wildflowers were amazing
There is no place in this park that isn’t stunningly mind blowingly amazing!
Beautiful hike, wildflowers blooming everywhere. We hiked all the way to where the river splits, well worth it. Path is narrow and you have to climb over some fallen logs.
