As you come into Leyburn along Richmond road on the right hand side you can park with a honesty box, the problems started when I arrived at Preston Quarry the routine was gated off with trespassers will be prosecuted but directed with a sign across the Quarry hoping it would take me around, maybe longer but back onto where I needed to be. This is where the walk became a load of shit lol and I should have just gone through the original gate or looked to hug that line (hindsight is a wonderful thing) lol so after jumping over fences and entering Redmire quarry anyway to jump over more fences I was back on track heading down and passed Low Bolton to the next problem at watery apparently I needed to cross the river Ure over some little stepping stones well!!! Not today the river was probably 100meters wide and moving like an Olympic sprinter if I wasn’t so far into the walk and so muddy under foot I would have gone back! But I made up the rest of the walk until Wensley village so if you want and adventure of jumping fences, walking over a steel girder/H-beam with water rushing under you scrabbling uphill sliding down Quarry sides then follow my route or if you do this walk make sure its bone dry and the river is low enough to cross over the apparent stepping stones as there is no other way over no bridge until Wensley. should have been 23.8km but ended up 27.8km moving time 5hrs 52 totally time stopping for food after burning 3057 calories and shouting at the map and situation as I needed to get back into for the Rugby was 6hrs 25mins

Weather was terrible to start with but brightened up later, it’s not the most thrilling of walks but enjoyed the wander back up following the Cleveland Way - views from the top are very good

Great walk through a range of terrain, some on road. Dog needs to be on a lead for most of the walk due to livestock, birds and roads .

Lovely walk as described. Completed at the end of August whilst the heather was I'm full bloom, which made the walk all the more beautiful. We walked down to the reservoir instead of doing the entire loop in the moors. It made for a pretty alternative and made the route approx a couple of miles shorter.

One leg of the walk is now fenced off and a climb over a fence needed. Otherwise an easy route to follow.

Nice walk we changed it a bit to explore more of the river ure and waterfalls, however on the return loop the directions marked on the trail are poor it took us to a dead end and had to climb out of a field. The route marked must of been through private property. So be mindful on the route

This is a grueling hike - a real test but spectacular. Look for the waterfall to the right of the path on cote Moor. I stretched the walk out by heading for the tarn.
