An easy trail. But it rained on the day we did the hike.

a little rocky at the end

Impressive flow and spray of water from a cliff. Easy hike. We visited on a cloudy, rainy day; it is probably more stunning in the afternoon sunlight. Watch for tour buses and RVs on the switchbacks--we saw one backing up the road because they can't make the tight turns.

Best hike so far. Just gorgeous.

Nice half day hike with awesome views of waterfall and mountains. Lots of uphill, it's a decent workout.

Easy, walk for the whole family. Busy Canada Day in the rain.

Great Canada Day hike. Took our time and reached the top in about 2 hrs. Started early and we were the first at the top, met 5 or 6 groups of people coming up on our way down, so it was getting busy even with drizzly weather. didn't go to the peak, just the lookout, since the weather was starting to get worse.

Great hike. Not the typical steep mountain views you get at the end of a hike but still gorgeous. We did it in the middle of a downpour and it took us around 5.5 hours. The lake is gorgeous, and even the day before Canada Day the crowds were not out of control... we had a good portion of the trail to ourselves.

Smaller in size than Lake Louise but personally like this better because of the mountain position relative to the lake and it has less people. Hiked the basin trail, not crowded and mostly in lush green forest

the rain was pouring down and because of a heavely flowing mountain stream we couldn't reach the actual basin and the peaks of the surrounding mountains were hidden in the clouds... Still it was a nice walk

This hike was really awesome. It’s a pretty constant uphill the entire way to the look out, but the terrain is very nice. The views are gorgeous. It’s definitely a work out. We tried to do the scramble to the peak, but the trail is a bit difficult to follow, once you pass the tree line, you get onto some pretty loose scree, on a steep slope, that was difficult to negotiate. Also, on the way down we went off trail in one spot, because it was hard to follow. But honestly, the views are worth all the effort.

Easy and beautiful!

Beautiful trail. Follow to bottom for spectacular views. Bring bug spray for Mosquitoes. Easy walk in then more difficult to bottom. Lots of spots to take pics.

Absolutely fantastic views from the top! Made the decision to go to the peak on a whim and definitely didn’t regret it. We saw a lynx as we were moving out of the trees towards the rock trail which absolutely made our day! Saw a couple male mountain goats as well but no bears thankfully.

Nice and easy trail. Great for first timers. The fall at the end is definitely worth it. What a view!

Love loved this hike! The false peak got me- despite the reviews. A great afternoon adventure that will leave you rewarded with awesome views. Not crowded at all. We came down around the mountain and caught up with the trail at the bottom of the scramble but both seem doable.

Beautiful views. We only did the lake circuit, but we loved it.The first hundred meters of the trail are very crowded, but it thins out as you progress. For the First 2km’s or so, you walk on a heavily used gravel path. Then, you’re into a lush forest with wonderful huge trees. Second part is more of an easy hike with lots of roots and muddy spots. We ended up here because there were no parking spots left at Lake Louise and it was TOTALLY worth it.

We brought our 4 dogs yesterday June 7 and had a blast. We hiked up to the top but were too tired to go further and heard from another couple there was still snow farther up. Not sure what else was to view? We took our time and it was 13km total an about 4-5 hours with lots of down time. Beautiful streams along the path . An the waterfall was gorgeous . Busy in parking lot an around lake but fine up on the trail up the mountain . Hardly saw anyone .

Definitely worth the side trip and short, 1hr hike. Beautiful waterfall with views of the mountains. If you’re willing to risk it, go past the fence and down for even more incredible views. One thing to note is there are a lot of mosquitos due to the sitting water from waterfall mist. Not really much concern, just a slight bother is all.

Nice short hike with some history.

Stunning views of peaks!!! I came across wild flowers, lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and may even hear and see small avalanches. My most favorite hike in Banff and Yoho Park. It opens first week of July. If you could not reserve the bus ride it’s worth to walk the distance!

Hiked up to the Basin today! Trail around the lake was in great condition, up to the basin was clear until the avalanche chutes. Still lots of snow remaining, but very much passable. Snow is packed and you stay on top in almost all sections. Beautiful views, short section of uphill climbing but 100% worth it.

Awesome ~ do it!!! Be sure to go down to the bottom. Daytime will reveal stunning rainbows... my crazy Canadian beau even took a dip! Lots of mosquitoes after 6 pm.

Warning!! BEAR cub on trail!! Ran out in front of us on trail. Never saw mom but I’m sure she is close. We heard noise in the bush.

Did this in June. Waterfall has nice and big from the snow melt and hike was easy.
