Walk on this everyday...love it!

I love the upper pond is nice peaceful hiking

I definitely enjoyed hiking here. lots of nice trails to explore

Fun for kids!

If you feel as though you aren’t seeing marks on the trees, don’t worry, keep looking...especially if you see many fallen trees around!

My favorite for a sunset walk. Gets busy so plan for that ☺️☺️

A nice trail to walk and to take a swim. It is quite scenic but it is hard to find much wildlife due to the crowd. The visitor center is really nice and don't miss Henry David Thoreau's hut.

Bring bird seed to feed the birds. we saw many people hand feeding the birds. Great place for families. All kids should check out the Rockery Loop. Picnic tables for lunch.

One of my favorite destination whenever I am in the city. The Longfellow bridge has been renovated now so it's a nice scenic river walk. I enjoyed the Charles River Esplanade area the most and there is a nice children's playground that kids will enjoy. I also enjoy watching all the sail boats on the Charles River and all the busy tour duck boats.

The sunset from here is absolutely spectacular as I've seen it many times. The Storrow Drive side is definitely the more scenic side but the Memorial Drive side is pretty good as well. In the evening, you will generally find plenty of photographers doing long exposure photography of Boston's skyline.

This is a good easy going trail in the area. Pearce Lake in particular is very scenic especially for sunset in the evening. The upper pond is good for swimming. The whole loop will give you a solid workout and the paved road is a nice touch making it good for family with strollers as well.

This is one of those spots I would gladly head to over and over again with kids of any age! Equally great for adults who love hiking with plenty of loop options and interesting waypoints (my favorite were the pond loop and observation tower).

I would agree with other reviews that while you need have a little bit of patience, if you have sunflower seeds the chickadees will be eating right out of your hand… we also spotted loads of turtles, and a faun as well as other local wildlife! I was hiking with kids aged 6, 8, and 14. We got about 2.2 miles in and spent about an hour and a half hiking. Bring bug spray and be tick-savvy.... we had to pull a couple despite being careful.

Everybody loved this hike! We’ll be back for sure!

Flat trail, nothing special. Wouldn’t go here unless you live really close to it. There are better trails around.

Entered at the Pennybrook Road entrance (ample parking) and explored the Undercliff Path, Dungeon Road, Cooke Road, Cornell Path, and Jackson Path. Easy hiking, although watch your footing on some of the rockier trails! Dungeon Rock is very interesting. There is a metal door in the crevice of the rock. The metal stairs inside lead down to a winding tunnel carved out in the 1600s and 1800s (look up the strange history of this place). If you’re going to go down into the tunnel, wear good footwear (slippery) and take a headlamp (dark). Steel Tower is cool too with great views of the surrounding area (including the Boston skyline).

Nice, well marked trail with nice lake views along the Ridgeline Trail. Good rock bounding moments too.

Some trails could be better marked, but overall very good.

Stunning and peaceful.

Sound autumn view

absoultely have never been but i love the pictures

Hot spot for birding

Best trail ever if you’ve never held a wild bird before?! You can bring or buy sunflower seeds and chickadees will land on your hands as long as you’re still. Greatest experience ever will definitely be going back! Trail itself was really nice and was very beautiful but the bird are the best part great trail for kids/family’s!!

well marked, great for running & mountain biking.

Super trail!

I really enjoyed this trail. It’s difficult enough to be a challenge with some light rock climbing (nothing crazy) and steep hikes, but still moderate enough to be a nice leisure hike as well. Plenty of nice look out spots by the tower and the lake was a nice treat. There’s tons of trails connecting as well so it’s super easy to customize your hike if you don’t want to do the full course of one specific trail. Would totally hike it again.

Beautiful hike and lake that you can swim in it during summer.

Not sure why it starts in west end, but nice path for running
