One of the most beautiful views in the entire park. Luckily the park has just built a new overlook where old social trails used to be that made the lookout famous. Very crowded and very popular, get there early in the morning or be prepared to park a long ways away.
You can't get any more unique than this. This trail takes you through the entire upper geyser basin to see almost 70 percent of the entire world's hydrothermal features. This trail is truly one of a kind. My recommended route is Old Faithful up the paved trail all the way to Morning Glory Pool, before turning left at Grotto Geyser to follow the Boardwalk past Giant and Grand Geyser to Geyser Hill, before looking back to Old Faithful. A must see if you are coming to Yellowstone.
Trail was still icy and can easily get off trail. Highly suggest trex king poles and/or micro spikes/crampons. In some parts it is starting to melt though and the snow was soft, causing use to step through the 5+ feet of snow in some spots. There were some trees down so you would have to find your own path. I proposed to my now fiancé at bradly lake. It was an amazing view and amazing time.
Very level and easy trail through interesting thermal features. The breeze from the lake is enjoyable on warm days and the view from the trailhead is beautiful.
tons of traffic for the first half (especially if you go through jenny lake) but once you get past inspiration point it thins out. (sidenote: saw 2 moose and a bear so make sure to look out)
Really cool. We were lucky enough to be there as soon as the geyser erupted. We were warned of bears and had bear spray on us. Most of the trail is snowy, highly recommend snowshoes.
Still a lot of snow cover making it easy to get off trail so make sure you have the map downloaded but it’s a beautiful walk in the woods. Snowshoes are not necessary right now but there is a fair amount of ice so Yaktrax are highly recommended.
Trail going up towards the lakes is pretty well marked. We only went to the first lake as others warned the trail gets difficult to follow at the 2nd. We continued the loop - what was pretty dicey at points. Not difficult to do but very difficult to find at points. I’d suggest not looping and just do an in/out.
Great hike, one of the top 5 in Yellowstone probably
It’s trail was awesome. Nice view to Teton mountains and lakes.
Great trail, snow shoes are definitely needed if going near Bradley lake. Also trail does not line up near taggart lake but if you follow the foot traffic you’ll be fine!
Packed snow on the trail was manageable with snow boots. Snowshoes would have definitely been helpful closer to the lake. The packed trail deviates from the AllTrails map, but meets back up quickly. Turned back before going to Bradley lake.
Quick, easy walk to the overlook with great views of the spring
Some of the best views in the park
This is a beautiful hike! We only had spikes and found it pretty easy to navigate. We did get off trail a bit going to Bradley lake because the trail that people have walked on is very different and doesn’t follow the all trails map. Definitely would need snow shoes to stay on the all trails mapped out trail.
Worked fine hiking through the snow
Must see for all first time visitors. I preferred the pools.
Snow shoed the entire way. The walk out was tough with a lot of uphill areas. It was a very long walk in the winter because most roads are closed. The view was beautiful!
Easy walk. Many interesting geysers and features to see, and of course, Old Faithful. Very crowded.
Went in July. Crowded. Easy. Good for a photo op.
I was here in July. Started from Jenny Lake up to Inspiration Point; continued going from there and was on the trail. Crowds immediately dwindled at that point. This was my favorite trail in The Tetons. It is simply stunning. Incredible views, wildflowers, river, and so peaceful. We did not get to make it competely to the end due to a moose we were warned about by hikers who had turned back. Absolutely must hike this.
