Awesome view.

Good walk.

Nice walk. Beautiful views.

Mammoth Hot Springs are definitely interesting and worth a look; the low rating is largely driven by the absurdity of including the upper terrace as a "trail" when it is nothing but a road just wide enough for cars. Do NOT hike the upper terrace; if you wish to see those features, do that loop by car as the Parks Service clearly intends. The lower terrace has a series of pedestrian boardwalks and stairs that facilitate an interesting walkabout to view the beautiful travertine formations around the hot springs. There are a couple of placards describing the basic process by which these types of features formed, but there is almost no information provided as to what explains their various names and histories. Bottom line: this is an easy stop that is a worthwhile roadside attraction but is not a "trail" or a "hike" per se, and All Trails should know better than to mark a narrow car-only road (upper terrace) as a "trail."

a short boardwalk stroll to very beautiful thermal pools
get there before it warms up to see the steam wafting through the air

Woooo! It's so cool to see the fall just beside it. I'm shocked by the beauty and sound. Fortunately I also see rainbow here. Two rainbows!

A interesting place. Different from other places in Yellowstone. One of my favorite.

Very amazing! Come early to avoid too many people. When I went there, there is so much fog that I cannot see my friend near me. Interesting!

It's a great view to see the grand prism from this trail, and it's very easy.

I just walked to see the geysers under the mountain and didn't go to see the fall. I think the geysers here are even more beautiful than those in upper geysers.

When I went there it's raining and too much fog. I think it will be better in a sunny day. Besides, I didn't see the fish cone. I think it is related to the water level in the lake.

Super super easy walk. Beautiful hike along river. Total round trip is about 5 miles. But man what a geyser! Actually liked it better than Old Faithful. However it erupts about every 3 hours, we got there by chance 5 mins after it went off, and it lasted about 15 mins!!! Sign the guest book and if u missed it look for an entry that marked the last eruption time to help you know when the next one is.

Easy walking trail though you might get a bit winded. We walked down to lower falls but could also see the upper falls. Fantastic view!! Worth it. Lower falls has a platform right at the falls so you can be at the edge and see the water go over, super cool!

Pretty stunning to see up close. Great views. Then onto Fort Yellowstone which was also interesting. Lots of people but it is what it is. Ran into a lot of road construction which was frustrating.

We went late afternoon. Had mostly blue sky with a few clouds. The view of Grand Prismatic was spectacular! I chose to hike this late afternoon based on another review. Apparently with the cooler morning air, there can be more steam coming off the pool obscuring the view. The wind also seems to affect the steam coming off the pool, based on my observation when we were on the boardwalk at Grand Prismatic. Nevertheless, we were rewarded with a perfect view from above this day!

Hey it’s Old Faithful!! You can’t go to Yellowstone and not see Old Faithful. Super crowded of course since visitor center and other educational bdlgs are here plus gift shop etc but now I can say I saw it

The views were phenomenal!

I recommend doing the overlook first and then looping back to the falls. The first half is strenuous for folks who aren’t in stellar shape. However, the views are worth it.

I loved this hike!! We did the whole loop, hiking to the overlook first. The switchbacks to the overlook are strenuous, but the views are stunning! We continued onto the beautiful falls from there. Along the entire loop we saw so many variety of wildflowers! More that 15 varieties! I was in awe! We hiked this the second week in July. This trail met all my expectations for a high Mountain View, a beautiful falls, and lovely mountain wildflowers!!

Bring water and bug spray but the hike is worth it.

Nice little walk close to the lake and around the geyers. Very crowded, though (I was there when it rained heavily, and there were still so many people).

We took the loop towards the right. it's pretty steep. be careful at the overlook losing the trail... if you keep trying to follow the ridge, you'll still see footprints for a bit but the loop actually cuts back very shortly once you reach the top. Ironically, the greenness and the non-western rolling hills-esque look combined with the steam (as if it were from a factory!), and the new growth trees smaller sized trees makes it look like Connecticut or upstate New York. In other words, not super impressive. The trail itself is quite nice and well maintained however, and the view of the falls coming down is better than towards the base of them. They're very nice falls. The remainder of the trail back along the creek is very nice too. then of.course the most.unique feature is that it contains biscuit Basin! Also it's true, this is a great way to escape crowds. it was astounding the line of cars and line to park at several of the surrounding areas. it's also true there's a ton of mosquitoes. load up on bugspray!

We drove around the upper terrace, jumping out at a few spots, then hiked the lower loop. So amazingly beautiful and like nothing else I’ve ever seen. Apparently this backdrop was used as Spock’s home of Vulcan in one of the Star Trek movies. This was our second day of exploring in Yellowstone. Take time to read all the signs and pay up to take a trail map at each area to get the most out of your visit.

Great views!

beautiful falls, lots of mosquitoes and a decently busy hike so going early in the morning or later in the evening is probably best

I actually love the crater spring just below this one. Prismatic is beautiful by plane and photo but you really can't see it from the boardwalk well because it's so flat.

Far too crowded when I visited and slightly worn. The boardwalk needs renovations and there were unattended children running amuck. It's ok for strolling but tourists have torn the place up.

Amazingly beautiful nature! We enjoyed slowly meandering to take photographs.

Stunningly beautiful!

Easy hike to a great view from the brand new viewing platform. Didn’t have time to explore Fairy Falls with our 5 and 10 yo’s and their 70+ grandmother, but will in the future.
