Do the full trail!!!! We saw so many people turn around at the falls but we kept going to the top of the mountain and it was SOOO worth it. Probably my favorite hike we did in Yellowstone! The view of all the geysers steaming in September was like something I’ll probably never see again. Amazinggggg!!!!

Breathtaking. Never seen anything so naturally beautiful but DOES NOT HAVE A BATHROOM! Haha only complaint I have. Haha

This was an easy hike to begin a three day back country adventure for us. By accident, we timed it perfectly to arrive right before the geyser erupted, and it was beautiful. We didn’t bother with old faithful and from everything we heard, this was better anyway. I was certainly wowed by this experience! Our back country hike ended through this trail as well, so it was a great “almost home” marker for me, too

This was a very easy and relatively short hike. My mother and I hiked to the lookout and turned around to avoid having to walk back on the road. We saw some wildlife, but I would recommend hiking in the morning to see more. There were several other groups who were hiking this trail at the same time we were which were loud and definitely were scaring away animals.

This trail was worth it! I recorded one mile of total hiking, and that took about forty five minutes. This trail is very steep and is switchbacks the whole way, so I highly recommend wearing sturdy athletic or hiking shoes. The trail is pretty broad; it can handle two way traffic. And the falls are so gorgeous. The sound of the water rushing off of the falls is so soothing. You can take breathtaking pictures. You can also see the Upper Falls, although not as well. Definitely an awesome adventure!

So many switch backs but a great little walk to see the waterfall.

Absolutely amazing! Our favorite sites were 3L7 and 3L9. Animals everywhere. Beautiful views.

Hiked this trail to the overlook. Wow! it's a gorgeous view. I'd call it a moderate hike. We are seniors in our 60's, and felt like it gave us a little challenge. We packed our lunch and sat at the overlook eating on a beautiful fall afternoon. The only disappointment we had was the lack of wildlife. Even from the overlook, we could see no wildlife. But, that's the way it's been the entire trip. Where are all the animals? Wolves taking care of them?

This is an awesome little trail to get a sample of a lot of the wonders of Yellowstone. There are some sections with stairs, which, during our October visit, were caked in ice and really tricky to manage for children. Worth it though!

Great views and a fairly short, very pretty hike. Kid-friendly. We were cautioned to watch for bears, as some frequent the area.

My body is in pain, but a good kind of pain. Well worth it for the awesome view of the waterfall! Just know that it is more than 7.4 miles, my Fitbit had it at just under 24,000 steps!

Trail closed :(

Such a pretty magical place. Absolute must if you go to Yellowstone.

Loved this hike! To the falls is a easy hike. We decided to do the loop after we got to the falls and saw how amazing it was. We went to the falls first and I want to think going to the falls first is the best route. But when we came down the other side it looked more gradual and had switchbacks. Our favorite hike in the park that we done this weekend.

lots of steps

My husband and I hiked this Trail on September 15th, 2018 on our way in the north east entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It was beautiful, picturesque hike that was nice to loosen up our hiking legs up for more difficult hikes. There was a nice variety to the surroundings. Some thicker forest area while hiking up a hill then it opened up to a beautiful lake with valleys surrounding it. There were ducks in the lake and a few fishermen fishing.  It was a very peaceful hike.

Great trail with great views the whole way! Was surprised by a grizzly on the trail about 15 yrds from us as we turned a corner about halfway from the inspiration point trailhead. Ended up driving to inspirational point.

road closed middle end of September

We hiked this trail from the lava creek trail head parking lot out towards Undine Falls and back again. Steep downhill to get to the suspension bridge crossing the Gardiner River - a fun trail addition, especially the signs warning people not to try and get their horses to cross the bridge!
You’ll walk through tall sagebrush and grasses, so be sure you have bug spray as well as your bear spray.
We ran into three other hikers and spotted some elk grazing by the river.
The trail shows signs of being VERY muddy earlier in the year, making the footing somewhat difficult. Hikers and large wildlife had churned it up pretty good, and it dried into a lumpy mess. Boots are a must here.
We saw lots of signs of wildlife and an elk carcass, but no large animal sightings except the two elk. We started our hike at 9:30 am. Very pretty scenery along the river and at one spot in the trail you are close enough to get down to it.

Very pretty and worth the steep climb back up. It’s switchback trail that depends 600 feet.

Trail was closed today . Most easy trails along south rim were closed accept artist point

Is quite crowded for most of it but the views are excellent.

We took the overlook trail up. The switchbacks were tough. It was not very well marked at the top. We, luckily, found our way back to the trail to the falls. Other than that the trail was well maintained. The views were incredible. The falls were spectacular. Overall a fantastic hike.
