So many mud pots. It's my first time to see the boiling mud. Very cute.

Actually I don't think this fall is as good as many other falls in Yellowstone, while the trail is very short and won't consume many time.

A interesting place. Different from other places in Yellowstone. One of my favorite.

Very amazing! Come early to avoid too many people. When I went there, there is so much fog that I cannot see my friend near me. Interesting!

It's colorful and beautiful here.

A interesting hike. Lots of mud pots. One of the advantage of this trail is that there will not be so many visitor as other places in Yellowstone. You can get peace here.

I just walked to see the geysers under the mountain and didn't go to see the fall. I think the geysers here are even more beautiful than those in upper geysers.

A good choice to see the geysers. Lots of geysers along the trail. Remember to plan enough time for this trail. You will stay more time then you expect.

Pretty stunning to see up close. Great views. Then onto Fort Yellowstone which was also interesting. Lots of people but it is what it is. Ran into a lot of road construction which was frustrating.

A walk not a hike! Expect to not go at your pace as your walking with many others. However; it leads you to the end destination of a “soak”.

This our first stop and exposure to thermal activity. This was cool and worth the stop but it was crowded

I recommend doing the overlook first and then looping back to the falls. The first half is strenuous for folks who aren’t in stellar shape. However, the views are worth it.

I loved this hike!! We did the whole loop, hiking to the overlook first. The switchbacks to the overlook are strenuous, but the views are stunning! We continued onto the beautiful falls from there. Along the entire loop we saw so many variety of wildflowers! More that 15 varieties! I was in awe! We hiked this the second week in July. This trail met all my expectations for a high Mountain View, a beautiful falls, and lovely mountain wildflowers!!

Quick walk in a geyser area. But it's very crowded and parking can take a while.

We took the loop towards the right. it's pretty steep. be careful at the overlook losing the trail... if you keep trying to follow the ridge, you'll still see footprints for a bit but the loop actually cuts back very shortly once you reach the top. Ironically, the greenness and the non-western rolling hills-esque look combined with the steam (as if it were from a factory!), and the new growth trees smaller sized trees makes it look like Connecticut or upstate New York. In other words, not super impressive. The trail itself is quite nice and well maintained however, and the view of the falls coming down is better than towards the base of them. They're very nice falls. The remainder of the trail back along the creek is very nice too. then of.course the most.unique feature is that it contains biscuit Basin! Also it's true, this is a great way to escape crowds. it was astounding the line of cars and line to park at several of the surrounding areas. it's also true there's a ton of mosquitoes. load up on bugspray!

This was our first loop / home at Yellowstone, an excellent way to start. Relatively short and super informative, many interesting features to see.

We drove around the upper terrace, jumping out at a few spots, then hiked the lower loop. So amazingly beautiful and like nothing else I’ve ever seen. Apparently this backdrop was used as Spock’s home of Vulcan in one of the Star Trek movies. This was our second day of exploring in Yellowstone. Take time to read all the signs and pay up to take a trail map at each area to get the most out of your visit.

everything is beautiful. it's all on a different scale of beauty

Had to scramble into the woods to let a herd of bison pass. The falls are spectacular.

Surprisingly good hike. We have avoided this hike because it was so close to town. We found it adequately challenging and quite pretty. Good spot for picnic at about 2.75 miles and another at 3. We saw a large Elk, rabbit and squirrels. Several ponds along way and a bonus was discovering Old Gardiner Stagecoach Road to drive on way out of YNP. That was worth the drive.

beautiful falls, lots of mosquitoes and a decently busy hike so going early in the morning or later in the evening is probably best

A MUST!!!!! Overwhelmingly in awe! Try to see Beehive Geysers...it's the best

Amazingly beautiful nature! We enjoyed slowly meandering to take photographs.

Very pretty - also great if you’re killing time waiting for Old Faithful!

Easy boardwalk hike. Parking can be horrendous! Kids loved the trail and we loved the “new” hot springs and mud pots.

started before 9 so had trail to ourselves most of the time (so nice given how busy it can get at midway!).. easy walk to falls and 2 geysers.. go up the hill for great view of imperial geyser..

we did the loop and walked through meadow back to the fountain trail - saw 3 bison and just kept following the orange square guides - felt very isolated in wide open meadows and geysers so was great although started getting pretty hot.. walk back on fountain flats path to midway parking lot was uneventful.. stopped for lunch at firehole river...

Way more than the posted 5 miles
Not a great trail

great to do first thing in morning so have place to yourself!

easy walk but busy.. did this after bunsen peak so good cool down!

Easy and fun boardwalk. The canary spring is pretty amazing to see up close.
