Falls were okay. We started at bike trail from fountain flat drive making it just under 10 miles. Bike trail open and mostly flat only one set of bikers passed us on our hike. Saw some bison off in the distance and one elk. Bike trail offered great prairie views and was gravel with some old broken pavement spots. From bike rack into falls was poorly maintained trail with some trash along the way. Heavy traffic and typical tourist racing to reach distinction, snap their selfie and push they way back out. If you can time it right the falls are nice but if your traveling with younger children skip the extra miles of the adding the bike trail.

A good choice to see the geysers. Lots of geysers along the trail. Remember to plan enough time for this trail. You will stay more time then you expect.

Awesome hike. Not too difficult or steep, even at the height of the mountain. It is a long hike for sure, but the 360° view at the top makes it completely worth it. Would do it again and highly recommend.

Sneaky hike - given the distance and elevation gain I was a little skeptical about the “hard” rating, but it lived up to it. One of those hikes which is relentless. Very nice one though, only issue early August 2018 was the smoke coming in from out of State wildfires which made for hazy visibility at distance.

Really beautiful views and landscape changes - you start out in the woods, then open up to a beautiful meadow, then climbing up some slate! You don’t quite get to escape reality though - the power lines run up the mountain and it’s the only place in the park I got cell service! Suggest putting your phone on airplane mode if you don’t want to be bothered. Took a little less than 2 hours total.

partially shaded trail through tall pines as you make your way up the mountain. not much visibility til you get towards the top, but the peak is pretty. the long switchback made the grade more manageable. not sure I would put this on my list again. There's several other hikes in yellowstone with more to see.

a lovely hike with plenty of wildflowers, butterflies and scenic views on each bend. just about 2 miles to the top and you can see the edge of the caldera. I didn't opt for the back trail to attest to that portion. but worth adding to your yellowstone hikes!

Beautiful trail and feels like you're in the back country after mile 2! Very flat and easy if you can make the distance. Start early and watch for muddy areas. Saw one bison and a white wolf! We were surprised about how few bison we saw.

A MUST!!!!! Overwhelmingly in awe! Try to see Beehive Geysers...it's the best

Very pretty - also great if you’re killing time waiting for Old Faithful!

We hiked Bunsen Peak Pass then descended down the back of the mountain, took the Osprey Falls trail down to the falls and then there ok the Osprey Trail back to the trailhead. Saw mule deer, marmots, and had a brief mouse encounter. It was 10.5 miles total. Very fun and made for a fantastic leg and cardio day. Osprey Falls trail alone would be pretty challenging the last 1.4 miles. Don’t pull up short though. The falls are well worth the effort. Would definitely do it again.

Kent

Great views from top and enjoyed going down via the back way to add distance and away from people.. saw marmot, elk...

We enjoyed the geysers so much and stayed in the area so long that we actually witnessed Old Faithful’s eruption twice (around 9:00 and again around 10:40).

Definitely some work to get to the top, but beautiful views! If you’re considering going down the east side of the mountain (towards the old road and Osprey Falls), be ready to add 6 miles to your trip from the peak (not including the falls). We read that it would be 6 miles total and were a little sad to spend an extra 3 miles on a hot road in the sun.

Hiked with husband, 9 yr old and 7 yr old last week, it was great. We started early and had the top to ourself. Last third of the trail was tough, but the kids pushed through and were rewarded by the view. Nice to escape the crowds.

Easy hike with a great view. I've been to the peak 7 times and am still awestruck from the great view.

lovely!

We did this trail on our visit to Old Faithful Geyser, at the same time taking in Black Sand Basin, Biscuit Basin and Mystic Falls trails. Amazing trail featuring the abundance of Geysers, Hot Springs, Fumeroles and many pools. Splendid sites , an amazing trip ... not to be missed!

Snowshoed out to Morning Glory in December and had the entire trail to ourselves, minus a few bison. One of the few times in the year when the area is empty, albeit -10 degrees.

Great overall hike. We went right before Memorial day. Took us ~2 hours, from 9a-11a. Because we set out earlyish, we were the first folks up the mountain that day and could really enjoy the solitude. On the way down we passed ~20 people.

Ascending you can see the Golden Gate, and the terraces at Mammoth.

Most difficult part of the hike was the scree at the top. That said, boots (which we wore) or even tennis shoes should be fine.

If geothermal activity is what you are after, this is the most convenient hike there is in yellowstone. However, true hiking is more my preference (which is why I only give this 3 stars). We actually hiked cascade canyon in the Tetons the same day and it is no comparison (cascade wins in a landslide).

Probably wouldn't do it again, but the walk is easy.

We started at trailhead near Undine falls. Hiked to get a closer view of falls about 1/2 mile

Trail ended up being 18.5 miles but worth it. Amazing views and I didn’t see anyone else while hiking!

The view from the top of the valley was one of my favorites. It’s absolutely beautiful at the top.

did 6/3 open and snow free but muddy so make sure to wear hiking boots. tons of wildlife such as bison and elk frequent the area. Hiked from fountain flats parking lot at the next Perez picnic area to fairy falls and imperial geyser out to the Grand prismatic overlook parking lot and hitched a ride back to the car. totaled 9.2 miles hiking. BRING BUG SPRAY. I think this is a much more senic version on fairy falls as you see the falls as you walk to it. there was noone on the trail. took 3 hrs 15 mins

Beautiful Drive....
