Hiking

Incredibly gorgeous hike. Lost a star because a lot of the forest was real burned up, and a lot of this hike is in the forest so there are portions of the trail that are monotonous and visually unappealing. Went in late fall, but would be epic during spring or summer, as there is some great swimming and fishing spots.

not very scenic on the actual trail, but the falls at the end we’re cool. went in july and we were the only ones on at the falls and saw very few people on the trail both ways

The trail was incredibly hard but so so soooo worth it and beautiful! The view at the top is incredible! But it will definitely feel longer than 4 miles.

Couldn't finish, only got to first false peak. Moderately deep snow, lost the trail for a while after getting out of the forest, high winds at the top. Great views, however. Could see Tetons.

WalkingGreat!

This is a lovely trail that continues from the prismatic spring overlook. It is so busy up there but from our experience very few venture on to fairy falls, which is surprising as it is a very easy and pretty trail through the woods to a gorgeous waterfall. A great packed lunch spot!

So worth the hike in the woods. An awesome, easy way to get away from the crowds at Grand Prismatic. Put it on your day trip list!

We were out there on Oct 16th. Due to the snow and fallen trees the trail would have been difficult to follow but a group ahead of us did the work and we could just follow their path. The downloaded maps were very useful during the last part of the hike which was very windy with sometimes not a straightforward path to follow. Weather can change fast at the top due to the wind. Going back down the trail can be slippery walking sticks are very useful. It is a very nice short hike to do, it took us 3h20 in the above mentioned conditions to complete it.

A very simple hike with little to no incline, but still so nice to stroll through the woods and end at a gorgeous waterfall. Bring bear spray. :)

Didn’t hike all the way to the end. Just went up to the Grand Prismatic Spring lookout view and it was amazing to see it from afar!

This hike was so fun. I did it alone and there was no one around so I got kinda spooked at the potential to see a bear. Very quiet. The waterfall was icy cold and Stunning!! Amazing hike and I definitely recommend it!

This trial was very hard but extremely rewarding when you got to the top. Views were extraordinary + I got engaged at the top. I will forever remember this trail.

Trail itself is mostly gravel and not so impressive (though perfect for getting a jog in at Yellowstone), but the trail leads to what are probably the most impressive areas of Yellowstone that are not insanely trafficked, Fairy Falls and the overlook to Grand Prismatic Spring. I actually caught the trail from the far end (3.4mi jog to the overlook) which took me past another thermal spot, and on the way back got to see a coyote.

We loved this hike. I did it with my two kids that are 15 and 9. It took us about 4 hours total. Amazing 360 views of Yellowstone once you reach the summit. This was one of our favorite hikes in Yellowstone.

Only did the very beginning to get views of grand prismatic. Crowded overlook but way better views than the grand prismatic bridge itself. Once you leave the parking lot it’s a flat walk until you see signs on the left for the overlook.

Definitely one of the hardest hikes I’ve ever done. Very rewarding! But so hard! Make sure you bring layers it’s very cold and windy at the top!!
