Nice easy hike through a coastal oak forest. Went on Sunday morning and parking was limited. Although there were plenty of people on trials it did not feel crowded. Nice view of Moriches Bay at the end of trail.

Lots of plants and lots of little winding trails, including along the river. There were even a few colorful flowers still out on October 30 when I went. Probably June is a little better for the flowers though. Still nice.

Nice trail, very wide for the most part, easy to follow, with blazes to keep you on track just in case. Not too much scenery, but a nice view of the water at the end. Probably a good trail if you want to avoid ticks.

Took the red trail. Marked very well, but was very sandy.Hilly and sandy made a more challenging run. I'd go back to run the green loop. Not muddy at all. Parking lot closes at 4. makes it a bit rushed for afternoon visitors. Lots of horse droppings on trail.

Lived near this park for years and finally got a chance to check it out. Nice little trail system with a couple of moderately challenging hills. Trail markings can be a little confusing but you are in the middle of suburbia so you shouldn't get lost. When we were there only saw one other group as we were first entering trails but tracks on trail appear to indicate it is well used.

nice views, some nice nature pics if you take photos.

the best place I have seen. hidden Oak cafe is great to.

I love the atmosphere

Great workout, the trails are nice BUT there is so much trash all over the woods. Old tires, bottles etc and the WORST we got tick-bombed by dozens of larvae ticks. Good my dogs are on great prevention, but they will still end up being bitten and that is unpleasant.

A really nice place for all. Beautiful

Nice, easy trail to walk. Mostly flat terrain. Very quiet, peaceful & smells like Christmas! Not very clearly marked, so there was some confusion at times, but overall enjoyable. Not all who use this trail clean up after their dog so be careful where you step!

I love this hike. It’s perfect in any weather (I went in the winter after a snow storm and had a blast). It’s quick and unlike any other landscape I’ve seen on Long Island. It smells of pine and reminds me of the pine forests of Canada. This quick hike is 100% worth the trip

Light walk with a beautiful field of flowers at the end of the trail as a surprise. There is a great change of landscape as you walk from the pond to the field. Great for beginners and folks with families

Incredible gem tucked away right next to the marina. Built and maintained by a local family, the space is full of beauty and positivity.

Nice easy walk for after work. Well maintained.

Beautiful and well-maintained! There are, as expected, mosquitoes in the pond area. The swans in the pond are lovely.

This place is perfect for dog walking/running. They really stress on keeping them on a leash. When it’s not as crowded and you have a dog that is trained on call back like mine, it’s five stars!!!

nice scenery flat easy to walk and some water views

I love this trail especially when no one else is there. It is so peaceful and serene. There is a sign that says dogs should be on leash and under your control at all times which is not indicated on this app. Overall its a short hike but well worth it.

Fantastic and so pretty! The trails are somewhat marked, but they can get a little confusing, especially since the map at the trail makes the trail seem a lot larger than it really is. But it is gorgeous, and a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Too sandy but a good workout.

I live by the Avalon and it my go to trail when I want to hike on a whim. It’s got a lot to see at the opening of trail at the duck pond. Once you cross the street you get more trails. My dog loves it here and it’s very peaceful once deep in the trails.

Nice easy hike. Some light hills. Good for an afternoon walk/hike after work.

Love this trail for the changes in elevation- it’s great for getting the heart rate up even for slow walkers !

Saw bunch of dears twice :) trail near the pond is heavily trafficked but very well maintained. The nature trails were a bit confusing.

Very busy by the pond , but the further you venture the better it is . Trails wide , hills but not steep and you can pick the trail to match your time .

It's a fun place to hike and bring your dog but the only bad thing is. There's a lot of bugs so bring your bug spray.

A fun, quick loop. Lots of downed trees from this year's winter Nor'Easters. Blocked trails at some points. A god one to do in the snow or on a windy day when you can hear the trees whispering and creaking against each other. Kids loved the two tepees we found along the way. All the pine needles make it soft on the feet, too.
