I did this trail in the summer of 2016 and loved it. the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there were alot of fallen trees covering the trail at different points so it got annoying trying to get past them. we also ran into some big horn sheep which was pretty cool.

Great hike! Good obstacles but i would not call it hard. We backpacked in for a couple of nights and stayed near the shelf lakes to the East of North Gap Lake. Beautiful views, and some of the lakes had fish. I was using dry flies and it seemed they would take about anything I put on top. Will do this hike again one day even if only for the fishing!

So Much to do here!!

Did this as a loop hike over the course of 3 days. Rough outline was: Trailhead, Dad's Lake, Barren Lake, Texas Pass into the Cirque, out over Jackass Pass back to trailhead. Surprised at the lack of mosquitoes in early August. AMAZING hike, but Texas Pass is not for the faint of heart. The only other hard part was picking our way down the boulders into the Cirque.

Highly recommend a bit of training before this trip, but the views are so incredibly worth it.

Attempted this trail 3 weeks ago and the snow was too much. Hip deep at points and the trail is covered. We made it to the top of the first rock scramble and turned back. Will complete this trail in the spring once the snow melts.

Oct visit

Great longer hike around the lake. We started near the jenny lake overlook and went to the right (looking at the lake). We were the only people in the trail until the intersection trailhead. Continued into hidden falls as a nice side trip before finishing the loop. Went past moose pond, did not see any moose or wildlife. It was snowing dueing our hike so the view of the mountains wasnt good, however the snow was pretty.

very well maintained trail with a lot of spectacular scenery to photograph.

Beautiful views of the Tower. Very easy hike on a paved trail.

Did this and Red Beds back-to-back. Highly recommend doing both for the incredibly different views of the tower and valley.

Really cool, but vastly different views of the tower and valley than the Tower Trail. If you have the time and energy, I highly recommend doing both trails.

Went in July. Snowpack was very light and the views were amazing!

Great experience! Lots of color at sunset

Hit the trail in late August, little two day outing. Day 1 to the top was fine, great views from the top on the morning of the second day. Day 2 pretty rough on the way out, trail hard to follow with down timber, no water, long out to highway 130.

This is a paved trail that goes around Devils Tower. It is very easy if you are in decent shape.

This was a fun, easy trail. The most surprising part was the amount of incline and decline on it. Nice views of Devils Tower but also of the surrounding area which is a very very nice as well. We tied this in with doing the devils tower trail and you can also tie this in with doing the trail that goes around the prairie dog area. I really liked the wild lavender that grows along the trail. This took about an hour to complete.

Have been down this trail many times in my life. love the view from look out point.

Enjoyable hike completed over 2 early mornings. First from east boat station to west side of lake, hidden falls and lower inspiration point. We took boat back to east side($9ea. 10 min ride). Afternoon spent on moose pond loop accessible from main trail. Next morning hiked from east boat station over north route to west boat dock. Saw many deer. Great views of Jenny lake and feed waters from string lake at the northern panhandle. The trail detours here from lake shore to foot bridge across upper panhandle (Portasans at nearby parking lot). Again reached hidden falls trail head and took boat back to east shore. Wife did not duck low enough under fallen pine blocking trail resulting in bloody scalp wound. Wasn’t clear about length or difficulty of entire lake trail in one hike but in hindsight it is doable for a couple of sixty somethings taking their time over mix of flat/ rocky/ hilly terrain. Watch out for fallen trees ha.

Devils Tower is GORGEOUS! Nice paved walk around the base. Decent amount of hills so be aware.

beautiful

My husband and I just loved this hike! (Well I loved all of it...he loved the view at the top haha) You get to lay eyes on the majority of the lakes in the area with this loop and OMG the view at the top is completely breathtaking! Definitely a climb and the boulder fields were a nice challenge, but totally doable. I agree with others who posted...I would NOT take my dogs on this loop. The boulder scramble is too much for someone with no thumbs lol We did battle with a good bit of smoke from some fires in the area when we did this hike a week and a half ago.

Great views and a grind of hike! I made a video if anyone is interested in checking it out: https://practicalvagabonds.com/medicine-bow-wyoming/

Great little hike.

Easy hike through prairie dog town. Would be great for kids.

I hiked the trails around the tower and then drove to the parking lot trailhead for this one. I ran into no one. So peaceful and much quieter than the tower trails. Saw several deer. Great views of the tower as well.
