Very beautiful lake on top. Saw small bear early in AM when we got to the lake. Early AM the wildlife is very abundant.

Went all the way to lake solitude.... fantastic

Stunning, really loved it

Great Winter Hike!!
We started ~1mile below the trailhead due to the seasonal closure. We took the trail over to the historic camp, then we went up to the lake overlook and turned it from there. Gorgeous views and very easy terrain. Since it was winter, we left the trail a number of times to explore the area.
If you're a backcountry skier, this is an amazing spot. Climb would only take a couple hours and the lines are spectacular.

I love to hike in with my inflatable paddle board. It's a beautiful hike in and the lake is great for paddle boarding

FAVORITE TRAIL IN TETONS!!!! Go all the way!

We did not make it all the way but the views were incredible in the canyon!

Amazing views. Steep start then a flat, visually stunning hike. This was an all-star hike.

This was an easy hike to begin a three day back country adventure for us. By accident, we timed it perfectly to arrive right before the geyser erupted, and it was beautiful. We didn’t bother with old faithful and from everything we heard, this was better anyway. I was certainly wowed by this experience! Our back country hike ended through this trail as well, so it was a great “almost home” marker for me, too

Hiked to the prismatic overlook, and then finished on this trail. Totaled about 10 miles. The imperial geyser was the highlight of the trip. Hike was pretty boring compared to other hikes, but was very easy. Worth seeing the geyser over the falls or prismatic.

Beautiful. May take longer than you think to complete the hike. Route-finding can be difficult in the boulder section and may not be appropriate for children, older folks, or disabled. A stunning annual run for us with access to the Middle/Grand saddle.

Was exactly like the descriptions said. We started out around 09:00 and took 5 hours to get to top. I’m very out of shape now days and refused not to give up until we made it. My wife waited on me lots going up but kept me motivated. The views going up and at the top are good enough motivation.

We hiked this trail in order to summit Disappointment Peak. Before beginning the last leg of our summit, I took a refreshing (and frigid) swim in Amphitheater Lake. I believe we counted 18 switchbacks. Both lakes were breathtaking!

Beautiful views!!! We felt like we were on top of the world as we ate our lunch. There was snow, ice and mud on the trail making it tricky to get to the top. I suggest to go a little earlier in the season Did it with a 5,9,11,13, and 15 year old and 2 out of shape parents. The whole trip up and down took 5 hours.

Great hike with breathtaking views. Saw lots of chipmunks but no bears! Had bear spray just in case. My husband and I really enjoyed this hike.

Lovely views above Phelps Lake. Take the time to go beyond Patrol Cabin as the canyon opens out and you get tremendous views. There was a light covering of snow in the Canyon which made it all the more spectacular. The aspens were at their best

Awesome scenery

Hiked this Oct 14. Snow at Patrol Cabin and into the canyon. Tough hike if you are just acclimating to the elevation-it’s a long, uphill trek to the cabin from Phelps Lake. We did go into the canyon a bit, but there was about 6” of snow so we didn’t go too far. The switchbacks are not super steep, just constant uphill for a while. Beautiful scenery, although most of the aspens had lost their leaves.

First time hiking in US national park, we are from Hong Kong and in a group of 4. A bit worried at first Becoz it is a bear zone area and we bought a can of bear spray. The park ranger/ guide at Jenny lake was very helpful showing us how to use it and even changed ours (we lost safety lock) with another can for us. It was a very good hike except we had to catch our breath a lot as we live at coastline, altitude is an issue but not a big one - just hike slowly

But the view is worth it. Ranger suggested us doing cascade trail first then we did hidden fall and lower inspiration point (since we couldn’t pass through hidden fall to cascade trail).

It was end of Sep, we took the 1st ferry at 10am then started hiking at 10.30am. We didn’t finish the whole trail, we just walked 1/4 and walked back and went to hidden fall and lower inspiration. I guess total we walked 7km. We just took our time and enjoyed taking the picture and the view.
Able to see a few mooses at Cascade Trail, but didn’t bump into any bear. We saw bear footprint (not 100% sure but it looked v much it was) when we hike up the cascade trail - we were the 1st group on that day. Lucky 4-6 of other hikers followed the same route as we got off the boat

We didn’t drink a lot of water as weather is very cool when we hiked, some sunshine but I still find it cold
To me it is not very hard - just hiked slowly. It is a bit steep at first but after that there is wide open nice view

Started at lake Taggart. Hiked this the first day of our Tetons and Yellowstone trip. I live in Houston so would have been a good idea to do a warm hike. The hike felt murderous. The altitude really got me. Great views and a nice challenging hike though. Will definitely do it again, this time after a warm up hike

Skipped the boat and hiked around Jenny lake, down to the boat dock (the trail through inspiration point was closed) then hiked up to hidden point and into the canyon. Great views and a fairly easy hike once you get into the canyon. Saw moose and supposedly missed a mama grizzly and two cubs ( good and bad.) by like a minute. Hiked to the trails fork, had lunch and turned around. I had a nasty blister so it took me longer than my typical hiking speed. Saw quite a few trail runners on the trail. Would do this hike again and try add lake solitude.

Jenny Lake ferry was not running for the season so yo save over two miles by coming in from String Lake. I would rate this a moderate hike. The highlight of this beautiful hike was a peaceful encounter with a huge moose and his lady friend. A number of hikers around and they knew were there but kept on eating

Very beautiful around the lake!

Just awesome. Start this hike from the String Lake trailhead (parking area) which technically ads another mile or so, because you have to go around the Jenny Lake loop to get to the Cascade Canyon trailhead.

From the parking area, go left. You’ll see an information station on your left & a bridge on your right. Cross the bridge and stay left at the fork (going right at the fork will start the String Lake loop). You’ll see the gorgeous views of Jenny lake on your left, and eventually come to the Cascade Cayon trailhead, among the others like Hidden Falls. Go right, and the trail begins. Awesome the whole way.

My wife and I are beginners, and we got to the end of this trail in 3h 20m with excessive stopping for pictures. Made it back to parking area in about 2 hours booking it to beat the sunset. No bears, but we saw 4 moose!

We managed to do this trail in 4 hours between rain showers. The canyon is wonderful and great fall colors. No sign of bears but it is prime territory’s I tale precautions

the reviews are all correct! we started this hike at the taggart lake TH so added a few miles but was worth it. heard elk after Bradley lake. once on the split up to amphitheatre, we saw a teenage bear. glad we had our spray but did not need to use it. elevation gain was a natural stairmaster so once you have your pace, you're good to go. bring plenty of water and a light lunch to enjoy at either lake. we met a great aspiring dentist- Tina from Seattle. hike on girl!

Amazing and beautiful hike to patrol cabin. So many different landscapes, and you have to make it into the canyon. Simply breathtaking. Did it with the fall colors!! A favorite hike for sure!
