"Hard" is an accurate description - perhaps even a bit of an understatement - but my god, this is a beautiful hike.

I'm writing this several years after doing the hike since I didn't know about AllTrails at the time. This is still my #1 all-time steps at 40k on the Fitbit. Since the trail in the Nation Forest, it isn't well marked and hard to backtrack a few times when lost. It's best to not be alone like I was. It was a challenge but also came with great views. I was so tired that I napped for an hour at the top before coming back down. I was late 50's at the time.

In all honestly I wasn't well equipped for this hike and it was a lot more difficult than I found it marketed to be! Nevertheless, I loved it and would recommend it to those psychically fit and with good hiking boots! It's very steep with biggish boulders to clamber over and not a lot of shade, which during the summer season wasn't ideal! The views at the top are well worth it though and you have the option of using the cable car to get back down. We chose to climb down though and were rewarded with more stunning views and little side trails.

HikingGreat!

We took the scenic route up called meadow trail and it was beautiful with streams and colorful flowers. Truly gorgeous. It’s a hike but definitely doable for beginners for the first portion. Once you get to the last few miles it only gets hard and harder. The switchbacks at the top are steep and put you to work. However, it’s the final 1.5-1 mile that is a quad burner. It’s intense, over rock and the scramble at the end to the summit is a bit scary and slippery over all the loose rocks. But, when you get to the top and see Teton peak it’s truly breathtaking! Totally worth it. Then there is the downhill. Yikes. We took the wrong way down. We went the steep trail opposite of meadows called Face Trail, and it was beyond brutal. Avoid this way down! It goes straight down and over rocks. We were slipping and falling down the mountain. I have some harsh words for that trail, lol. Just go the meadow trail down if you want to save your knees and not fall down the side of a mountain, ha.

Definitely steep and treacherous with snow and mud but a great hike.

The trail is parallel to a street and most nice viewpoints are therefore very crowded

Nice, easy trail with a number of good views of the falls, canyon, and river. Despite the snow, 30 degree temp, and a few slippery spots (ice, snow, and mud), I really enjoyed the hike because of the solitude and fresh, crisp air. Took less than three hours to complete.

Hiking

Very enjoyable hike. First two miles in is heavily trafficked and brings you past mineral pools and the waterfall. The remaining three miles to the campsite is mostly through forested areas so highly recommend reading up on bear safety. Campsite is by another waterfall and is a great site for lunch. At lower elevations this might be considered an easy trail, but the thin air had us panting. This late in the year we were hiking through snow flurries which made the trail even prettier!

Gorgeous, rather easy hike. There are views of waterfalls and the Grand Canyon much of the way there, plus bathrooms and benches to rest at different viewpoints. Pretty busy and narrow during Covid times—bring your mask.

As a new hiker, I found it challenging. I took the “gentle” route both up and down. I was still exhausted! I am physically fit and run often but still found trouble on a few parts. I don’t recommend for older folks unless they are used to hard joint exercises. It was very pretty though and will definitely go back again next season!

Amazing hike. It was my second one (Darby Wind Caves was the first) ever since I was a teenager. I am in pretty good shape but this hike killed me after I got past the first 3 miles. The last mile to the summit was very easy until you’re at the base of Table Rock. When I summited I was shocked at how beautiful the Tetons were. 10/10 worth the struggle. The last miles heading out are beautiful. 10/10/2020

This was AMAZING but the hardest hike I’ve ever done in my life. I’m from the east so I think it might have been the altitude that got to me.

Parked in Brink of Upper Falls and hiked from there to Inspiration Point and back. Definitely descend to Brink of Lower Falls viewpoint! The final mile and a half to inspiration point was empty and I saw no one until the viewpoint. Pretty level and easy hike on a good day.

One of the best hikes we’ve ever been on! We really didn’t feel like the downhill was that much better on the Huckleberry trail. There were a lot more loose boulders. If we did it again we’d definitely go back down to the way we came up. Beautiful none the less!

We had a beautiful day and the weather couldnt have been better. It was hard. We went up Huckleberry and came down the same way. Went up with my 2 sons and a 10 year old grandson. It is extremely hard and my grandson was a trooper and we all made it to the top. Saw 3 moose and they saw us. Trees have been pulled out by the roots because of the wind a few weeks ago which was amazing to see. It was so awesome with the Teton Peaks so close. It took us about 8 hours because we went up and came down the long way. Well worth it. There was water on the Huckleberry route.

I'm rating this with 4 stars because of the amazing view you get of the canyon. Started it from the Lower waterfall viewpoint. It was fairly easy throughout, the trail is well kept. Started around 1 pm, there was shade along the way and it got windy at the top of the canyon, so maybe bring a wind breaker.
