It’s a beautiful overlook. Steeper than you think but short. There’s street parking at the trailhead.

Easy, Fun..great for everyone and great for an easy walk. Saw some cute squirrels and a few deer.

Quick & Stroller friendly. We saw baby squirrels and chipmunks on the trail as well as rainbow trout in the lake.

This is such an easy hike. Even though it’s short the payoff is incredible. If you need a short break from...anything...this is an excellent option.

Great for little kids! Easy surfaces, mostly flat, and plenty of Marsh, forest, and shallow lake to see.

Great for kids and the whole fam.

Easy enough for kids but not the best terrain. Its basically a gravel road the majority of the way set at a steeper incline. After reading through some reviews we may have missed the proper turn off, but it seemed like all of the shootoff paths were "blocked" with logs. Our kids ranging 2-6 had a blast exploring the teepee!

A bit short, but the view is fantastic.

Who doesn’t love this hike, though?

Not bad hike to gain some elevation to watch the sunrise

Wonderful easy hike !!!

Loved it. Very easy hike even for a beginner like me. Parts of it are steep but I went up and down in like half an hour. Good for a nice workout.

Though we've walked this trail many times, this is the first time we stayed past dark. It's amazing to watch the city light up after dark. It may be a good place for stargazing too. Keep in mind in the summer, since it gets dark later to park in the right spot so you don't get ticket. After 10pm they issue parking tickets of $30. (Which rise all the way to $150 if not paid within a particular time period.)

The elevation and length were good for a beginner. But everyone else is correct, the trails are very difficult to follow. Even with GPS, we got lost several times. However, since it's an easy trail, almost entirely in the shade, it was quite fun getting lost and exploring. A couple notes: If you start on the north trail, you'll walk for a while on an old jeep trail, following a pipeline, and then you'll hit a fork in the trail and see a sign that has an arrow to the left. . . you actually need to go right! You'll walk up a lot of pebbles and boulders and then on the south part of the loop this is where it can be difficult to follow the trail. You'll hit another fork and you can go either right or left and you'll make your way back regardless. If you go left, you see a neat cave, and then have a steep decline to deal with. If you go right, easy peasy. Either way, you'll make it back to your car. Have fun!

I thought the view was great but there was graffiti and trash all over. Kind of disappointing. And, while labeled easy, it’s a bit of a uphill and not easy for many.

This is a great trail to take your dog on! There are a few places your dog can go wading in the water as well so it's nice on those warmer days.

Perfect trail to get our dog acquainted with other dogs and to test if he can handle being off leash.

It was challenging to find the start. You have to cross the road. If you park in the parking lot that the directions take you to you’ll go to the trail head sign and stay left. Next you cross the road. Then stay left for towards the stream. You can stay on either side of the stream to get to the falls but left side would probably make it easier to see that you are indeed headed to the falls. My 3 year old didn’t do well but my 5 year loved it. If I do it again, I’ll wear my 3 year old. The ground was challenging for him to navigate.

Easy hike to the top at Ensign Peak! Beautiful views! A bit rocky but somewhat easy to navigate. Also a fun place to watch planes take off in the distance. Beautiful view of The Great Salt Lake.

Great, easy trail and boardwalk around the lake. Surroundings were beautiful.

LOVED this trail! Shade, off leash for dogs and a babbling creek the entire way for the kids and furry friends to play in. When we visit Utah again we will surely return!

easy for beginning bikers

Beautiful and a simple short hike you can take your kids on...

All year round off leash dog trail. Super easy.

1.2 Mi loop I don't get that. Nothing is labeled as 1.2 miles anywhere. Not kid friendly as an easy hike.

Great place for dogs to play in the creek. I'd love for this to be a running trail, but it only goes back for about a mile before it's too sketchy to run anymore.

great for beginner/intermediate mtb. quick short and easy trails for after work

Usually it's pretty crowded. But a nice, quick, relatively easy hike to do after work with your dog.
