Easy for first time hikers as well as experienced. just make sure you have water prior as water is quarter mile away if you dont want to walk. but worth it!!!

Great trail. With all the rain I would definitely have some shoes that handle mud and water really well. A lot of the trail is shaded so it was very wet. I loved it though.

Fun hike! Went after a rain storm so the trail was super muddy but not very crowded. Under the rainy/muddy conditions, the trail was more of a moderate hike. Lots of rocks at the end just before the gorgeous falls!

It is pretty! We went on a Saturday so crowded and it rained, so really muddy! More on the moderate side than easy. Had toddler with us that couldn’t be carried up the last steep rocky portion to the falls. Had view though!

Take this trail which connects with the John Rock loop trail for some spectacular views! Much less crowded than the Looking Glass Rock trail and still with beautiful scenery. Park at the Pisgah Wildlife Education center and pick up a trail map- very well marked and maintained.

loved the views. Truly worth the drive. Would like to go in fall and even start over night.

Beautiful forest views and running creek. Signage could be better, we had trouble finding our way back.

Views are beautiful and it’s very peaceful at the top. Like others have said, it’s not much of a “hike” it’s more of a walk to the top, take in the scenery and head back to the bottom. All and all tho, it’s definitely beautiful up there.

Beautiful scenic hike. Waterfall at top is gorgeous. Many areas of the trail were very muddy.

Wonderful!!!! Lots of falls, lots of shade. Easy hike and lots of places to stop and enjoy the water. Go up the ropes— you won’t regret it! Just stick nearest to the water once you’re up past marker 3 so you don’t get lost!

This is not a hike it’s short and beyond easy. The 8 mile drive up the mountain is more eventful than the “hike”.

There is are fantastic views at the summit and great sunsets, but good luck enjoying them. Due to the simplicity of the “hike” there will be tons of people at the summit to provide you with a relaxing atmosphere of pizza, loud music, and obnoxiously loud laughing and screaming. If you’re looking for relaxation and a peaceful evening then skip this one

Great trail. Easy for kids. Beautiful falls with lots of areas to get your feet wet or take a little dip. Very crowded. Will try to go during the week next time.

Very peaceful and well shaded hike. There are not any views from this trail however you can easily go to the John Rock trail around the half way point and find some.

Great hike with beautiful views of the waterfalls.

We have done this trail a couple times and find it to be a good hike. When the trail is less crowded (April instead of July), you might come across some deer that will trail along parallel to you for a bit. You also might see a snake or two near the trail.

beautiful waterfalls. great hike!

Great hike for the whole family! We have been twice and the hike to the top is awesome!

Wonderful hike with our 2 dogs! We loved the swimming holes throughout the hike to let our dogs (and us) get our feet cooled off. Beautiful waterfall!! We hiked to the base of the falls and didn't climb the rocks to the upper falls.

I love this trail. I walk this after work so get in some relaxing nature time, and get in some exercise. The falls are beautiful, and relaxing. Everyone I’ve met is super nice. Plenty of shade, as well as sun at main waterfall. It gets semi steep at some points, especially if you hike up past the main waterfall area. There are ropes along the path past the waterfall to help you climb up, definitely some rock scrabbling involved.

Beautiful hike

we did the pump gap loop from the Silvermine trailhead, a few hundred yards up the little road from the parking area on the river. the trail map posted there lists it as 5.6m and shows a very different trail route than what this app shows. also, this app consistently showed me well east of the route according to the map on this app. so I don't know what to think..be careful, follow the yellow blazes for the route we did, we were on trail just over 3 hrs & are average hikers at worst I'd say. update-i think what this app shows/describes is a combination of an AT section and part of the pump gap loop. be aware.

Great waterfall! Although the recent rainfall left the trail quite muddy, it was manageable. I would recommend wearing waterproof shoes as you need to ford a stream. The waterfall was impressive and a perfect pit stop on the way through Asheville.

Absolutely beautiful trial from the beginning. The sound of the creek throughout is nice. Felt like we were on Tom Sawyer's Island in Disneyland because it was so clean and perfect. Nice footbridges crossing the water when needed. A butterfly landed on my shoulder and took a ride for about 15 minutes. The waterfall was very nice as well. Plenty of room to splash around and cool off. Had a picnic on the rocks at the bottom of the falls before heading back. Easy hike all the way. Didn't see any bears but we did spot a squirrel!

About as good as you can get. Easy walk in and out, and the falls are just beautiful. can't recommend this enough.

I was told how fantastic that place was, and drove about 2hours for it. I will admit I was a bit dissappointed. If you are around, sure do it! But otherwise...

Fantastic hike! Great hike for our 6 years olds! Beautiful waterfall awaits you at the end!!

One of my favorite trails. Wide path, shady and in the woods, follows the river/creek, great for kids and dogs. Waterfalls and areas kids can get in and play safely are a wonderful payoff along the way!

Beautiful trail...loved seeing bear tracks! The falls were beautiful and I wouldn't call this necessarily easy! Much better to hike during the week than on the weekend when there is heavy traffic!

Very well kept, beautiful hike! i wouldn't say this is 'easy' as it's got some inclines children might find diffcult but it was nice! Also, it is well-traveled, go early if you want to find parking.
