Surprisingly hard. I wasn’t expecting that from OH.

Nice fall hike. New signage throughout trail and logged areas have thickened up nicely since last year.

This trail is actually 16 miles. It says so on the park map and after the hike my phone said that i hiked 16 miles also. I highly recommend hiking this counter clockwise do to the hills. Great workout. I finished in about 5 hours.

Great trails. Love the rolling hills.

My first fourtenner and a good one for first timers and beginners. Awesome view and easy incline!

good trail. easy to follow with some common sense. allitle more challenging with swollen creekbeds.

Absolutely worth the trip. The drive in from Cinnamon Pass was sketchy like a lot of people have said previously. I’m an inexperienced off roader driving a Jeep Patriot and I made it down but it was shaky. If you are about the views getting to Handie’s then definitely go through Ouray and Cinnamon Pass, if not and you want an easier drive in, take Co 30 in. The hike itself was a pretty steady gain. I did this as my first solo 14er and absolutely don’t regret it. But never underestimate a 14er, even the ones considered easier. Make sure to start earlier, 7/8 at the latest, so you can get down before afternoon storms start up.

great hike! probably more moderate than hard, but there was a bit of up and down. fairly lightly traveled as well...only came across two other groups even on a weekend.

Great hike! Did the north loop today and it was great. Some parts of the trail were a little overgrown but nothing to crazy. Would love to go back and see what it looks like in later fall.

Hiked this yesterday. Even though this is rated as the easiest 14er, it was still a relatively challenging hike. For being a class 1, I was surprised at the amount of loose rock at the top. Trekking poles would have been a good idea. No wildflowers along the trail anymore but also no snow yet. Views at the summit were beautiful, obviously.

Short hike in ~1.5miles. Great to backpack with small kids. Fun fishing in the pothole lakes; plenty of legal-ish small mouths and panfish. Lots of rustic sites to setup. I really liked this path.

did the north loop. tons of spider webs the entire way, had to walk with sticks in front of us. trails were rough from the horses. probably won't do this one again

Fun backpacking trip with my dad and little sister. The two lakes are gorgeous in early springtime, particularly around evening. The sun sets to the right corner and fog dances across the water. The trail took us over hills, through forests, a river crossing or two, some marshy areas, and a few areas that had been deforested, but overall, solid Indiana countryside. The wildflowers were beautiful, especially the Fire Pinks.

Horrible. Not worth it. Trails need to be cleared of brush and many parts are not walkable. Full of poison ivy and ticks. No warnings about how the place has become overrun with ticks until you do a lot of digging on the Hoosier National Forest website. I hope no one gets Lyme Disease here. Please go somewhere else.

Did this yesterday. Excellent hike. A relatively easy 14er, but a moderate hike. Past peak wildflowers.

Nice hike. Easy 14er, but a moderate hike. Past peak flowers, but nice views.

If you follow this map, you hit Princess Falls about halfway through. If you continue to follow it, it ends at Lick Creek Falls. You actually get three waterfalls on this trail counting the small Julia Lynn Falls.

Overgrown; covered in poison ivy, stickers and spider webs. Lake campsites are nice though.

Easy hike, beautiful views. Tons of wildflowers. The lake was really pretty and a welcome sight for the pups. If you have 4wd, follow the road up to the highest parking lot.

Combining the 6 mile loop with some of the bike trails makes this a much more challenging hike. It's a beautiful little loop with lots of shade and the river is fun to relax by in the summer because of the tube and canoe traffic.

Beautiful hike! Made it to the upper parking lot in my Ford Escape but it was definitely a little sketchy at times. I would recommend driving a car that has a little more clearance than mine. I would rate this hike as an easy to moderate hike. One of the most scenic hikes I've ever done and the dogs handled it really well!

Not extremely scenic and the trail was littered with spider webs. Bring plenty of water as well, drank about 3 liters myself on the hike. The overlooks of the lakes however are pretty, and at one end of the trail, you end up walking through an open prairie which is a nice break from the woods.

Was a nice well traveled with some grooming trail. Would have been better if they could have created a loop. We came back on an atv trail just to get a different view. There is definitely some wildlife based on tracks on the trail but we did not see any which would also have made it better. Large portions of the trail are shaded with a few clearings but it helped break up the scenery. Was impressed with the stands of pine that were planted in rows at some point in history.

Great trail, I didn't encounter many other people on the trail but several near the river on kayaks or tubes. Wish I'd had brought a tube in my backpack for the way back, would have been cool to hike from the campground to the falls and then tube back on the river. I did 6-8 miles roughly and it was a nice hike, I'd definitely say moderate not hard.

Well marked and the scenery is beautiful!

Hiked, swam, trail ran a bit, camped. Tons of mosquitoes, flys, and another larger flying biting pest. Cool precession of moths as you move down the trail. Lots of tiny frogs.

was a great hike! beautiful!

Bummed. Hiked from cherry lake; followed the markers, then along the creek bed, as there was nowhere else to follow, then dead ended into private property. Followed that to a road, obviously not the trail & had to turn back. Checked with my hiking buddy to see if we missed another branch of the trail. Had not missed any other routes, marked or otherwise. Disappointing to say the least, wish these trails were marked appropriately and/or maps were available at trailhead.

Excellent hike. Well marked trail. Beautiful wildflowers. Long hike. Last mile short, steep, slippery switchbacks. Amazing view at the top!
