The best I’ve been at

Great trail easy to add onto, many streams, not a ton of elevation, only a couple good viewpoints. We added on by taking the white trail back to the red trail. Would Definitely recommend.

awesome steep climb. Only bring your dog is he's a good climber. One of my favorite hikes!!

Beautiful park, great place to walk your dogs.

great hike awesome views

Great forest walk with nice view of the Hudson River

Beautiful views, tough trail. Very muddy, and one particularly steep section (read: you must climb up a rock face). Overall, this trail is dedicated to my trekking poles, without whom I would have face-planted many times.

We also went up twin mountain from here: highly recommend. The view from there is breathtaking.

Great hike. Challenging. Be in shape!

Map indicates going up and returning on the white trail. Best to return on the yellow trail. Trail maps were available at the start of the trail, just before the car tunnel.

It is a little strenuous but the views are amazing. The fall colors are just starting and in about two weeks, it will be wonderful! It was a beauty day for hiking today. There were so many people on the mountain, it was unbelievable!

High Tor State. Park closed today——so no way to access the trail

Beautiful!

Pleasant hike on a well marked trail. Good starter trail for an amateur. (That’s me) There seemed to be a few other trails that crossed this one, I will probably return to try some of those.

Some trails intersect with other trails, which can get confusing. Otherwise an amazing and beautiful hike. While it can be tempting to just hit the overlook, doing this entire loop is well worth it!

This was my first hike and pretty challenging for a newbie. #1TIP wear comfortable shoes and clip toe nails beforehand. The incline and decline on the rocks will do a number on your feet. Sunday morning hike (9 am) didn't see much of a crowd. The trail is about 1.5 hours from New York on the Metro North(BEACON STATION). You'll need to take a cab ride from station to trail roughly (5 mins). The view and experience is well worth the hike.

Steep and Rocky. Great late afternoon hike to get the sunset against storm king.

Amazing views!! Go in a few weeks for an breathtaking view of Fall foliage!

Pretty much all rock going up. Moderate difficulty so it keeps the little kids away. Very nice views toward the top as you reach the Perkins Tower. Some of the views are obstructed until the leaves fall from the trees, but still plenty to see. Going down it's all steps and there was one moving waterfall.

The beginning is super intense incline about a good 30min worth all rocks . Was a challenge but a nice view. After there is another 30-40 min incline with steps which was a bit easier but still intense because of the length. Another great view when you reach the tower . Continued looping back again a few steep drops which you needed to sit , side and hold on to trees a bit to get through . Seemed like a bit more then moderate to me but then again I haven tried a “hard” trail yet

Amazing elevation and breathtaking views. This trail has so much to offer depending on what color trail you choose. If you start off on the white near the train station it is very vertical for certain stretches. The difficulty is part of the fun! Take your time, be safe, enjoy the views and take pictures. You will never forget the views! Life changing!

My oh my... very confusing trail. Most of the time I felt like we are lost as you can barely see/find trail marks. , Poor marking added an additional excitement but if we were on a trail at dusk we might not be able to get out of the woods until next morning. Summit views are to die for, overall nice hike, nice waterfalls. This trail is definitely "moderate" to "hard".
Around one mile into the trail there was a "killed deer weight station" which made me sick, it had a huge scale with iron chain accompanied by picture instructions of what do you have to do with it(absolutely disgusting and sickening). Not sure if you want to bump into that if hiking with kids... Otherwise trail was ok

Amazing hike ! Beautiful scenery with many photography opportunities !

I love this hike. It’s two loops but there’s lots of opportunities to make it longer (or shorter). What I like most is the variety of terrain - nice forest walking, scrambling over some rocks, great views, stream crossing etc.

Amazing trail, would recommend walking sticks

I went on probably the most beautiful Saturday of the year, however, it was SUPER CROWDED. Besides the crowds, it’s not exactly in a remote or removed setting. You truly felt like you were hiking in a park, and not a boundless natural setting. The hike itself – distance, terrain, and variety of obstacles – all great. Just not a nature escape type of hike.

One of my all time favorite trails. Begins with rippling brooks for quite awhile. Magical woods, mushrooms, variety. I enjoyed that even more than the expansive river views further along. A good effort, but not scary.

Great, moderately challenging day hike. We parked near the Inn and walked to the lake trail to join Major Welch. Unfortunately we did it clockwise, meaning we climbed the stairs and descended over the rocks. It was difficult and I would have liked to do the loop the opposite way. Regardless, great views! This gets 4 stars instead of 5 because it was crowded, even during the week, and we heard a lot of road noise. There was also a lot of litter, as noted by a previous commentator.

The Ice caves were amazing to visit and walk through the trail make sure to bring a sweatshirt or sweater something to keep you warm since it gets cold inside.

Breath taking view but an extremely steep hike... at some points you're rock climbing which can be terrifying if this is first hike and you are afraid of heights. This is the most challenging hike trail I've done so far, I would recommend coming here early in the morning to beat the sun and the crowd and also wear sturdy with good grip since you will be rock climbing. I don't recommended this trail for dogs and children under the age of 10 if they are not very active and they are able to rock climb which would be difficult for them.Trial end is just a walk away from the start of the trail.

Great all around hike that has it all. Not too challenging, but would be a good hike for any moderate to expert hiker.

The terrain is varied and you will have a lot of rocks to step on so make sure to wear proper boots.

Will hike it again!
