I was there again on April 15th, it was really, really slushy. I’d recommend gaiters! Also there was a few patches where we sank into the snow well past our knees although it made for a great laugh, it was a bit more work to get out of the snow. Still beautiful and worth the adventure. Take some extra clothes to be dry on the ride home!

will go back in the summer. only downside was the noise and scenery downer from the Plant and powerlines that was next to/through the majority of the trail

Loved this hike. Definitely a work out but nothing too strenuous. We did it with crampons and they were definitely helpful. View at the top is amazing. Took us about 4 hours total.

Worth the trip. Amazing views once it opens up after the switch backs. Brilliant!!!

Very cool hike. There’s a few steep sections where you have to work but in general the incline isn’t anything too tough. Hiking the ridge by the tea house is very fun. Definitely recommend it.

Switchback style trail with a few views of the Vally as you go up. Brilliant views once you summit. It’s a treat that you can grab coffee and a snack at the gondola facility.

It's a great hike, don't get me wrong. But considering the amazing ones around, I give that only 4 stars. The best is to find a way to add it to something else. We did The little and big beehive, Lake agnes, highline trail and came back via plain of six glaciers. Big day, filled with amazing views

Obviously if you are there, you should do that. It's very crowded but the lake is very nice.

Nice and easy to follow, the hike isn't that hard because the trail is in very good condition. If you are into scrambling, I'd suggest you look into the mount temple scramble. But go there prepared... We tried to follow folks that were going up but had no clue of the way, so we had to head back 1/3 of the way. Still gorgeous - we ended up going to eiffel lake and the Wenkchemna Pass following west crossing to BC. Big day but amazing. If you skip Mount Temple, and if doing both is too much, I'd suggest doing only Wenkchemna Pass

Just finished this trail for the first time (April 14, 2018). It took me a total of 2.5 hours, however I ran down most of the way. Nicely packed snow all the way up and a very easy to follow trail. Highly recommend crampons or some sort of traction on your feet.. trail was completed covered in packed snow and ice beneath. I saw some hikers without any traction on their feet and I was surprised.. not sure if they made it to the top or not. Blizzard 80% of the way up, however once I got past the tree line the sun started to peak through!! Stunning 360 degree views at the top and well worth the steep incline! Very windy past the tree line, so make sure to bring lots of layers. One of my favourite hikes to date! Amazing.

First and last ice walking here this winter. We will definitely be back again!!

The girlfriend and I snowshoed this trail and found it to be very enjoyable. The trail up until Rawson Lake was heavily packed and easy to follow. However at the lake the trail disappeared completely and it looked like everyone hit the lake and turned back. We tried to continue on but, with so much snow fall, breaking fresh trail became tiring after another kilometer so we settled for reaching the far side of the lake, had lunch, and trekked back out. Good trail, only saw one other couple. We plan on going in the summer.

Steep hike but really worth it. It took us a bit less than 2 hours up and about the same down again. We wore small cleats (not proper crampons) and found it a little slippery in places but easily doable. Gets great sunshine most of the day but pack a windproof layer for the summit as the wind is fierce!

Beautiful hike with 4 years old boy!
Alot to see in 1hour!

Awesome hike today! Spikes needed.

Very nice hike! Will definitely do it again.

Beautiful hike!! A hidden treasure, definitely get out there before too many people discover it!! Spikes needed.
One of my all time favorites!

We did this trail Saturday March 31/18.
Trail is pretty steep going up but doable.
We had our ice cleats but we would have preferred to have something a little more extreme as it was pretty slick on the way down.
The views up top were breathtaking.
Definitely worth the effort.

it’s a good winter hike, we started 1335 today and we reached the false summit 1609 and add another 15 mins to 20 mins hike to the true summit. this is our first winter hike for 2018 with my close friend and my partner. And it’s challenging but were on full gear lol we have our spikes for our shoes and hiking sticks. it is indeed a moderate hiking trail. once you reach the top, you’ll see amazing views of the mountains during winter and you’ll see the famous banff fairmont hotel.

It was not so easy with two kids 4 and 1 years old so it took us linger than usual. Nothing interesting in the way up but trees. However, once you reach the mirror lake, it is so beautiful. Finally, you can see a waterfall coming down from lake Agnes. Then, you know it was worth doing it. You can get a hot drink at the tea house. It is also a busy trail with lots of people

Very nice trail. The only problem that the last part of the road to the trail was unpaved. However, it was an easy one and once you reach the lake, you can enjoy the view. We went on the fall so we could not enjoy the flowers so that I hope I can go again in the summer

Fantastic underrated kid friendly winter trail! Make sure to have crampons or cleats (especially for little ones). Do not let the beginning of the trek fool you. Once you get past the industrial plant and into the canyon it is incredible and half the people than Johnston. My kids thought it was incredible to climb the rock sides and slide down as well as climb the frozen waterfall at the end. Take a lunch and a beverage for the end and enjoy :)

A very nice trail , it has step sections but is very manageable, also very. yay as the weather was nice. The view at the trail end is breath taking !

Great hike - can really push yourself and make good time up and down the trail. Good view of the valley and Canmore throughout. Incredible at the top, to peak over the massive cliff.
Tea house is interesting.
Done this hike a couple times.
Prepare for more exposure to the sun and heat than covered hikes

My first ever summit! So much fun in the snow. Slid down on our butts for half of the way down

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

One of my favorite trails thus far. It requires a good push as most of the trail is on an incline. The view from the top is incredibly spectacular and beyond worth the struggle towards the peak.

We are not avid hikers and we still managed to complete the trail close to an hour and a half. It is so worth it!!!

We wore crampons and wished we had brought poles as well. However, we were hiking on a fresh batch of snow so poles are probably not needed when the path is beat down.

The weather at the top is quite chilly. We encountered a swift wind as we left the tree line to reach the peak. Prepare accordingly!
