There was beautiful green moss all over the ground and trail. It was very well kept for a rugged trail.

We tried to go hiking but all of the trails were flooded. It didn't say anything about it on the park website. so if you're driving any sort of distance, I would suggest to call the park if it has been raining a lot. Other wise, the fall colors on that area are gorgeous.

The "trails" or grassy roads as they are, are well maintained. My experience with this trail was everything i thought it would be for a Florida trail system. Alltrails only show the drive-able roads and not the trails themselves for some reason and was marked as "moderate" (it's flat) We hiked the Meade trail for about half a mile then took tiger trail for a half mile which is not maintained (due to a storm the previous day i assume) but walk-able. We ran into some local wildlife that wasn't very happy we were there. We came across some Javelina pigs, or maybe baby pigs, no adult sow or boar with them. Then came the spiders!! must have been stirred up from the storm the previous day and they are jumpy to say the least. The first spider we came across was a "Golden orb weaver" Biggest one I've ever seen that wasn't behind glass. The web was completely blocking the trail like it was waiting for me or something. Trail was at least 8 feet wide and the spider was as big as my hand. (not a lie!!) The second spider looked like a wolf spider, It was hairy and as big as the diameter of a pop can and jumped at us, thus ending my hiking trip in Florida. I do not like spiders in the first place and I'm use to them in the Pacific Northwest. I had a good time but I think I will stick to the trails in the northwest region.

Good trail. Part of it was closed due to flooding so only did around 3 miles but it was well maintained and looked nice. Best to do when colder because there is quite a bit of time in the sun. There is also an almost absurd amount of ant piles and spiders. Overall it was very good though.

Nice mostly wooded. 4 mile loop trail. Well marked trail.

Cost: $7 per person.

Need I say more? Other states don't charge money to walk around in nature.

one of our best close to where I live.

The trail was pretty but the bugs were horrible. We wore bug spray but still came out with welts all over. It was well marked.

Yes it is,Hot, but this will always be my local favorite. The new trail markings are really very bright. The trail itself is pretty well worn and what you might not necessarily need the tree marking but it’s nice to look ahead and see your bright orange marking on the tree.In the very few muddy Areas, you can see tracks. Raccoon I believe. Heard but didn’t see a woodpecker. I might’ve heard a deer crashing through the woods but I’m really not sure what it was. It’s bigger than an armadillo. Saw a large moth not a lunar moth. Bugs weren’t bad.

Very wet be sure to bring your trekking poles. As always, I wish I had more time. It was lovely. I took the myrtle trail. I started the one way in the back, but it looked a little too wet for the short time that I had. Little did I know that the myrtle trail was also quite wet. But I love these parks for no one is! Yes it rained, yes it’s humid, yes it’s hot, it’s also wonderful. And a few mosquitoes

Not bad for the ride. A lot of inclines and turns. Give it a try. I went on the 3 mile course twice, next time I’ll try the 8 mile

Have 3 kids so it was an easy walk for them. Seen an armadillo and more dragonflies than I could count. Felt crowded on trails (with vegetation not people) and not very scenic.

I started my hike at Double Lake, my plan was to hike the Double Lake Trail, however, i found out the Double Lake trail is mostly for mountain bikers. I decided to hike the Lone Star Trail instead and I was not disappointed. This is nice trail. I did an in and out just to try it out and I enjoyed my experience. I did not come across any other hikers and it was nice quiet hike.

Hiked this one early may which was great so it wasn't too hot! I did the 3 mile loop, took about 1.5hr return. Mostly a biking path so keep your eye out for bikers coming around corners. Also watch for snakes on the trail!

I rode the 8 mile trail. As a moderately experienced rider it was a good challenge that is not dangerous. Two climbs that will burn the legs a little bit but overall a good ride with just enough challenges.

We are learning the basics of hiking. Trying to figure out what gear is needed and to build up for eventually a thru hike on the Appalachian Trail. After celebrating our 20 year marriage anniversary and now our youngest is graduating, along with us turning 40 it was time we did something healthy! We hiked a total of 3.5 miles but didn't realize this app records trip till after we stopped for lunch. Beautiful trail, plenty of shade, and random appreciated breezes. We startled a hog just off the trail that in turn scared us to. All we seen was a flurry of leaves and branches. We had a good laugh and really enjoyed the day overall.

I hiked the blue loop (7.2 miles) and the red loop (12 miles) this week. There are large sections of the trail that are thick with bluebonnets right now. I also saw a bobcat and a large rattlesnake.

I hiked the 8 mile trail. It is a beautiful trail. Lots of bike traffic today. That slowed me down a bit. Other than that it's a great workout and the perfect time of year because of all of the flowers that are blooming.

Live near here and enjoy this trail often!! From TH #1 on Little Lake Creek Loop Trail, all the way to the Sand Branch Trail (about 6-7 miles), and finally on the Lonestar Hiking Trail back to TH #1 is a great 13 mile hike. Relatively shaded from TX sun and mostly a flat trail, minus small creeks and ditches. Great way to enjoy the outdoors!

Nice trail. Liked the orange trail beat!

There are many trails but chose the drive. We will be back to do the trails. Plenty of wildlife to see; Alligators, water foul, blue herons, snow egrets, turtles, cardinals, woodpeckers, and turkeys.

Nice rainy day. I startled an armadillo, I stood still and he waddled right towards me. When he finally saw me he took a hard left into the woods.

such an awesome trail! hiked the 8 miles today with a friend and we had a great time. dirt trail mostly trees about half shaded and a little lake views.

I parked it to myrtle parking lot and took the trail there. You walk in about 4/10 of a mile on a grassy Road and then you can go left or right and beyond a nice hiking trail. Make sure you look at the signs on the tree, the orange marks, because the truth is pretty messy at some points and Verizon and two other places then the orange marking tree there’s a little bridge and some boards you can walk over.. I walked slowly this time, and I’m glad I did, there a lot of limbs on the ground. And you can Easley trip. When you walked on the grassy Road, you’ll see some beautiful pines some beautiful cabbage palms and the effects of fire. You can see only did a couple miles, but that’s all I had time for today. So a lot of butterflies. And there is a trail to the west of the parking area that I completely missed of course so I just have to come back again

Enjoyable wooded trail with long boardwalk over swampy area that leads to a small stream.
