Nice trail that’s not too long. It was a bit harder than I originally anticipated. Had to do some baby rock climbing it felt like. I was lucky and went on a day with some light rain. There was no cover but I had my rain jacket so it was quite lovely.

Highly recommend. It was definitely a workout on the way up (took me 2 hours), but the views were incredible. It’s very icy in some spots towards the top, so I wouldn’t suggest without at least poles. Saw a moose as well, so that was exciting. Would definitely come back and do again

Tough but very rewarding hike, beautiful views at the top. Start early to get cooler weather.

Just a quick FYI... do not be intimidated by hard rating on this. It is not hard. Intermediate only because of length. Seriously, unless you’re a little out of shape, or a beginner, this is in no way a challenging hike in my opinion. Best “grade” comparison would be white pine lake, but shorter. The view is a dang joke. Phenomal. Literally. All lakes are awesome. Bring some climb8ng shoes also for a little bouldering. You can also summit sundial fairly quickly. In my opinion, one of the best hikes in all of Utah. So worth it on every level.

Hiked the trail on 10/22. More of a gradual incline with no parts that were very difficult. Was about 2 hours up with a few breaks. Worst ice on the trail was about 2 miles up, the last 1/4 mile the ice was easily avoidable. Lake was beautiful at the top.

Trail is a bit challenging to find.

Great views.

This is more of moderate/difficult hike.

BEWARE of rattle snakes. Stay on the trail, mosdef.

Fantastic hike! The first part of the hike along the lake there are some good lake access places for fishing or swimming. The trail is rocky and uneven but we did it with our dog in about three hours round trip. The extra 1/4 mile viewpoint at the end was well worth the short distance. We’ll be back with family and friends!

My husband and I completed this hike on October 21. We started around 10:30 and were surprised to find there were only a couple people we encountered on the way their, and a few on the way back (maybe everyone gone for fall break?).

The trail is lovely and not too steep. We were a couple weeks late on peak fall foiliage, but everything was beautiful just the same.

Our only regret is that when we got to the waterfall, we scrambled down to the river. Instead of scrambling back up, however, we took a long, meandering way down that added a significant chunk of time to our hike. Next time, we'll have to figure out a better way to get back up to the main trail.

The quiet, beautiful morning was well worth the 90-minute drive for us. A must-do hike for northern Utah!

Awesome hike in the desert! It took around 2 hours to complete the out & back trail.

Awesome trail! First bit (1.75 miles) was a breeze! The second half was on the steeper side, but definitely doable. There was an icy patch (the last quarter of a mile). We were smooth sailing with spikes and poles, but we saw people get by with sliding. We JUST missed some moose sightings, but the lake itself was BEAUTIFUL! It took us just under two hours up!

The trails are awesome!! Beautiful sunsets and nature! But watch out for jumping cactus! My dogs got a couple stuck on their paws . Other than that trails are breathtaking.

This was a great hike! The trail clear but not marked very well. It seems like the pools should be bigger at the end, but definitely explore more and you’ll find cool little water falls and bigger pools. The water was flowing yesterday! Also from the parking lot to the pools is more like 6 miles round trip. Definitely worth it!

Some snow on the trail (October 13), doable without crampons or microspikes but definitely faster and more fun with them! :) Gorgeous weather, aspens are still yellow and falling, lots of snow on the peaks and the lake is starting to freeze over! Wore a tank top on the way up but was pretty cold at the top and bundled up for the way down. Less than two hours up and about an hour to run down (with photos :). Love this hike!!

I enjoyed the entire hike in and out. the canyon and falls are beautiful and nice to see in person.

First time up and I was nervous. Turned out not to be so bad. First mile and a half is a fairly easy incline last mile I had to stop and go slow. That is also where the icy parts are that were doable with poles. We also had a Welcome committee 3 moose (1 Bulls and 2 cows). There are 2 really rocky sections as well. Totally worth it. Its just beautiful.

Beautiful trail!! It took me just under 2 hours to get to the top (took a few breaks). The trail isn’t extremely hard or anything it’s just long/has a consistent moderate incline. There are some icy patches right now but they were doable without poles. It was gorgeous at the top and there were a few baby moose!

Really challenging hike. Take about one gallon per person and some snacks to eat along the way. Make sure you take some comfy shoes. I was on Nike Free Runs and my brother was on some New balance 247. I would recommend actual hiking shoes. If you plan on taking a dog make sure to give him/her lots of water the day before and also in the morning before going. Don't forget to feed him/her in the morning as well and also take separate food and water for dog. I took my 8 month old American bully and he did fine. We had to help him a lot getting over high rocks and also getting down rocks on the way back. My dog isn't too big so we were able to pull him up at the end where one has to sort of climb to get to the top. We gave him a break and put him in my backpack the last hour on our way back haha. Be careful on the way back because the trail is tricky to follow. Also because there are many loose rocks. We started the trail around 9:30 and got back to the car around 3:30. We would've made it a 3-4 hour hike if we went without my dog. Overall an amazing hike. The views are crazy and satisfying.

Great! Last 1/4 mile is covered in ice as of 10-19; it’s easy getting around it while ascending but you’ll easily fall descending if you don’t bring spikes or poles.

Fun little quick hike with some scrambling at the end near the cave. We were surprised how big the cave was. Beautiful area!

This is an absolutely grueling, challenging and strenuous "hike." A huge chunk of this is essentially an uphill scramble with some vertical climbing mixed in. This is definitely not for the faint of heart or for those not comfortable with scrambling. That being said, it's absolutely 100% worth it, as the views and sense of accomplishment are great. Just be careful, take your time (especially going back down) and enjoy.

Best hike ever! Totally breathtaking and worth it. But good gear and it will be all smiles.

Great hike! Save time to explore once you get to the falls; there is a nice trail that leads up towards the top of you don’t mind being adventurous and climbing a little.

Great hike until the last few hundred feet, it becomes a little steep. Great views from top and very rewarding

Great hike loved the challenge to the cave. Great views and very rewarding.

beautiful scenery. but be careful, it is very icy right now and very difficult to hike without poles or spikes. I almost fell twice on the way down.

We really enjoyed the hike. Challenging toward the top and not that crowded during the week. Will defiantly go back!

Does anyone want to buy my reservation? Oct 21-23 weather isn’t looking good and I’m not willing to take any chances. Did this hike last year and was reallly looking forward to it. 4802905744

I hiked this trail with my husband back in January when I was 38 weeks pregnant (my ambitious idea, not his) and loved it! It was a rewarding challenge with incredible views the entire way. The falls were dry at that time of the year, but it was still well worth it to get to the end. Lots of people were out, but everyone we passed was very encouraging along the way.

Lovely hike. So beautiful the entire way to the Falls, and the Falls themselves are awesome.

Super-challenging hike. About half way up, it starts to feel more like rock climbing than hiking. Tricky trail to follow. Only would recommend for experienced hikers in good shape. That said, very beautiful hike. Very special place. Lots of dramatic vistas. Happy we did it.

To the nice Canadians we met...we did find the way with the help of some locals.
