This trail is a zoo up to Lake Mary, crowded and not super pretty with a view of the dam until you get up to Lake Mary. Lake Mary is a pretty lake. As is typical, once you get past 0.5 miles all of the crowds go away. After that it was beautiful, nice view down to Martha and then beautiful at Catherine. This is an easy hike overall. Fall colors are amazing. Oh and it hailed last night. Walk down and sunset colors were amazing. 5 for the natural beauty, 2 for the crowds to Mary.

started around 8 am. Road up to the trail is rough, so dont go without the proper vehicle. On the way up, we only ran into one jeep. Hike up is fine, not too tough but nothing special. The fall scenery once you get to the lake is amazing though. ATVs on the way back down around 1030 ish, but not too bad.

Fun hike for the family, including 2 young kids and 2 small dogs.

Did this hike yesterday after hiking down from Red’s Summit Trail. It is a moderate hike that is best early in the day before it gets too crowded at the falls.

The falls were not that impressive. The trail was crowded and is super narrow so you have to stop frequently to let people pass.

Don't go. Gross, tons of people who bring their kids and pets to run around and splash and scream in the water.

Relatively easy quick and fun if you start from Sundance resort

It was pretty. The hike was fairly easy until the last part where it’s rocky, steep switchbacks. I’m out of shape and kinda died a little. The lake was smaller than I imagined but it was so nice just chilling on the rocks catching my breath! The breeze was a definite plus!

The pave path most of the way makes this a much less strenuous hike until you get to the trail. There are many rough trails up marked by trail signs. I took the most eastern (up canyon) trail near the picnic table. It seems to be the best trail from what I saw

Sooo incredible. Perfect temps, great scenery, pretty easy hike too. Took the whole fam and kids had no trouble making the hike carrying their own packs. Their ages range from 7 to 12. Also had some fun little trails for us to explore in the morning around the lake too.

Good little hike with a waterfall at the end - entrance fees waived by a National Parks pass.

Loved this trail. Unfortunately it burned in sept of 2018. who knows when someone will go and replace all the wood bridges. Even if they did it will be a very sad sight for a while.

Not my favorite hike, but it’s nice. It’s a pretty busy trail but the waterfall at the end is fun.

Pretty beautiful; enjoyed it. Great hike for a date with someone who isn’t that outdoorsy.

This was a beautiful hike but you now have to pay 6 dollars to park at the base of the hike or walk 2.2 miles to get to the hike.

This hike was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it but I would try to go later in the day so that you can cool off while soaking in the hot springs. This was also a great hike for someone from out of state (Missouri) as it wasn’t too steep and felt as though I was hiking in Missouri (but better lol). We did see a lot of snakes while on this trail so be careful (but none were venomous). Also, the trail looks like it got washed away a little bit so be careful as it’s gravely and large washouts on the trail itself.
Trail: 5 stars
Difficulty: easy to moderate
Drive to trailhead: very easy paved road

Beautiful hike. Not much water this time of year. Want to do this in the spring.

Beautiful! We did a 2.8 mile loop. Started at the base of Milly up to Twin Lakes. Then hiked back down to Silver Lake and up the road back to Brighton. Steep, but worth it!

Beautiful hike. The entire way there is just so much to see. The mountains themselves are exquisite. We saw deer and moose off the trail. On the way to Catherine you pass lake Mary. Made a mental note to come back and camp overnight at Lake Mary. It would be an easy backpacking trip in and out.

We hiked up and camped at Lake Catherine. It took us about 1.5 hours. Great spot with a relatively short hike (about 2 miles up). The trail was pleasant. The views of Lake Catherine, Mary, and Mary were so nice. We went up the first week of September and the leaves were just starting to turn.

We did the shorter version of this hike. (You can start at Milly Lift) The trail is STEEP, but easy enough when it comes to footing. The true gem is when you get to Twin Lake. It's like stepping into a Thomas Kinkade painting. The water is glassy and the trees and foliage make this place a true Haven. If you're a true trooper you'll top it off by jumping in the Lake. Be warned: it's VERY cold.

beautiful falls and shaded paved trail to the base of the falls. just pass the falls there is a bridge to the left with port-a-potties..to the right of the bridge is the safest way up the falls. it is dirt narrow trail that then turns to gravel and rock. Very narrow all the way up but not strenuous. Just nerve wracking that you could slip! We took our 12 yr kld daughter and I was so afraid she would slip. people were carrying babies and toddlers and i think they were nuts!! once to the falls it ia gorgeous and fun!

Great hike but I wouldn't have labeled it as easy. Towards the end of the hike it became a challenge. The last part of the trail to get to the lake is steep and involves switchbacks. To me pretty strenuous but the result of it is very rewarding.

Hate they make you pay now. But this trail is family friendly with some information. It's always nice and cool especially with a breeze.

Nice hike. Twin lake located within solitude ski area

Love these hot springs. Especially beautiful in the fall. Avoid visiting them on a holiday though, if you enjoy solitude...way too many people visit the area on holidays to allow the outing to be enjoyable in my opinion.

9.3.18 - this is a pretty easy trail. I started it at 8:15am and the lots and side of the road were so full. but the time I came back down it was a circus on the trail. there were so many people it was like bestbuy and Walmart on black Friday. lots of crying kinds and college kids blasting the music. I'd say do this trail during the week, very early in the morning. you'll enjoy it so much better.

Been on many hard hikes and wanted an easier one. Loved this trail. Was not strenuous at all. Saw a moose just chilling in the middle of the trail. Such beautiful scenery and well worth the small effort this takes to get to the lakes. The lakes were absolutely breath taking.

Great trail overall. Most of it can be considered easy. However, it is important to note that the final tenth of a mile or so is quite rigorous with switchbacks. The payoff is just at the top of the hill though. For this who are not accustomed to walking at higher elevation and/or engaging in regular exercise, the last 10th is quite challenging.

Also, there is NO shuttle bus. You can buy lift tickets at Albion base (ample parking). It is FREE to ride the lift DOWN, but not up.
