Nice easy trail to follow.....TRAIL closed when you reach the turn to go to the dripping cave due to regrowth from fire. So unable to finish the last .4 miles. Tons of rabbits and a nice cool creek to splash your face if you get hot

One, not what i thought it would be. Two don’t go in august, barely seeping water.

A small cave and a small waterfall. Interesting but not must go.

Gorgeous trail. It takes you down, so you can walk among the hoodoos.

Not really worth the hike in the summer...there was a trickle though. The mossy cave was still mossy. The best part was dipping our feet in the cold water.

Awesome trail beautiful views and not to bad of a hike

A challenging and rewarding trail.

Beautiful hike! Did it with my 60 year old mother in about an hour and 15 minutes. Absolutely stunning.

a nice, easy hike. good for a trail run, for sure and very pretty.

Like everyone else said, this hike has some pretty scenary but the end is a huge disappointment. I guess I should have read the reviews more carefully but you really just end up at a gate at the precipice of Malibu lake... So close, yet so far. Wish it would have ended up at the lake so I could check it out.

I would rate this as really easy. Mostly flat with one part that has a 10 minute incline you have to hike.

One way took me about an hour.

Long but easy, good for a run

Awesome!

Some very modest hills, but otherwise a flat walk (or run) up Penesquitos Canyon. A small waterfall at the mid point provides some scrambling opportunities as well as a place to cool your feet. A fairly easy hike, but little to no breeze in the canyon, so not a good option on hot days.

Easy trail for small children. Approximately one mile round trip. The waterfall is worth it.

The trail to the waterfall is not actually closed: there are two « closed » signs, but on the older versions of the trail that got eroded. There is a new one with a tiny wooden bridge on the left of the older ones. That said, be careful, erosion is still at work, and the new trail will be closed one day too...

Amazing views for a short hike! Took us less than an hour, but we did break a sweat on the way up.

Nice short hike. But the trail to the waterfall is currently closed.

Great hike! Showed up fairly early at 7 and didn't feel it was too crowded yet. Combined with parts of the Queen's Garden. By the time we reached the switchbacks by Wall Street, around 9:30, it was packed going up the switchbacks. Probably best to get there by 6 AM.

Great short trail for a closer look at the canyon and hoodoos. Very busy - highly recommend this isn't your only trail in the park, so you can take a moment to appreciate the place without the crowds. It's a five star short trail, but the crowds knock it down a bit.

short trail. steep decline/incline at ends. best at sunset/sunrise. great was to see the hoodoos!

Nice short hike, a little steep. Cave is kind of a let down but the river and waterfall are worth it

gorgeous views!!! totally worth it but a lot of switch backs on the way up.

We loved this little place. The trail is easy enough for a wheelchair or a stroller for most/all of it. The cave is more like an overhang, but still fun. The waterfall is the best part. It's refreshing and great to take picture with!

The best hike in the park. Don't let the steep incline scare you. We went to the right of the trail.

Hard but was a good trail beautiful

Nice little hike. Waterfall is great to see. Popular.

One of my favorite hikes on the list of six pack of peaks. I’ve hiked this twice. Once with backpacking and once as a day trip. Just like everyone says, the first mile is quite an incline and got me huffing and puffing. Then the last two miles to the summit was a struggle. I had to stop every couple steps to catch my breathe. I don’t recommend camping at the summit because it’s super windy and could not sleep all night as the tent kept shaking. The top is usually windy and a bit chilly

Amazing! Don't miss this small hike. will recommend this one for anyone that comes here.

This is one of my go-to weekend hikes. It gains a lot of elevation quickly, but that means some pretty stellar ocean views and isn't too long. Watch out for poison oak and wear sun protective gear.

It was way more interesting than I expected. Definitely go to the waterfall. In general it’s very flat, but the trees are very beautiful.

$3 cash to park.
