Nice easy to moderate hike with lovely views. A little busy on a Sunday but it was also a holiday weekend. Try to go early! No smoke from fires when we went today (11/11/2018)

One of my favorite shorter hikes in the county. Amazing views at the Peak area. Some douche bag spray painted red paint all up the trail. As usual on this trail we didn't pass another person)))

Loved this trail, went during the off season and was able to have the trail to ourselves. Easy walk, beautiful views. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the furthest lake and around 3 hours (with side hikes) to complete. You can get this trail done in 2 hours if you go straight there and back.

This was one of the best hikes! Highly recommend it

Amazing hiking. All the trail was very quiet so you could hear the sound of nature.

I love this trail, especially in the Fall. I bring my labrador and we have a great time.

Pick up you dog s**t and trash you filthy animals. Don’t bring your aggressive dogs on trail; otherwise it is a nice stroll.

When you need a trail to get you back into it after a 2 month summer hibernation. Off to Cuyamaca

Outstanding hike and views! We missed the fall color up here but still well worth the trip!

Oh yeah. Trail starts you at 10000 feet and hikes you incredible views of the eastern escarpment of the Sierras. Not bad for a 7.4 mi day hike.

One of our favorites

Love this trail for horseback riding and hiking. Has been getting busier on the weekends with cars in the horse trailer parking.

Beautiful hike. Too bad people aren’t more conscientious about their litter.

Went for a trail run, weather was warm, trail was perfect. There are bathrooms at the parking area and down by the river. All very clean, nice to have. Down by the water and a couple of places along the trail there are shaded sitting benches and even some picnic benches.

This is our go to for a quick dose of nature. I often come here to clear my head and get centered.i love this place. It’s beautiful after a heavy rain.

Not a bad trail. More of a nature walk than a hike. Sandy along the river bed. Several shallow crossings.

Nice hiking, excellent cardio, caution with the snakes

Easy hike, not very taxing at all. Stellar views, nice trail, cool trees. 10/10

Awesome trail! Gradual incline on the switchbacks. I am fat and hate switchbacks but this was moderate and doable. Some areas are Rocky ankle twisters, also a few rock scrambles. Pay the $10 to park at the campground don't cheat it that money helps maintain the trails. Don't be a ass. Bathrooms at the campground are clean picnic tables for lunch, nice place. Julian up the road is nice stop for an ice cream reward.

Did this hike yesterday was my first time did the big loop trail 6 miles. Just as we were leaving the fog rolled in and covered the entire valley so awesome to experience with the kids. Will definitely go back there with the mountain bike.

We loved this trail! Great for a hot day. There are clear cold lakes to jump in every half mile or so. There were a lot of people but everyone was very friendly and didn’t even make comments about my dog off leash. My pup is very friendly but she is a pit bull so many people make incorrect assumptions about her. We all had a great day. I was wishing I had brought sleeping gear. I wanted to keep going and going!

Excellent trail, plenty of parking space on the pine valley trailhead but don’t forget your adventure pass in the general store right as you enter pine valley! Great place for a solitude getaway, with plenty of spots to lay a tent down if an overnighter is your thing, like myself. Not much of a water source in mid October so bring water. And be sure to be mindful of where you leave your food for there were mountain lions all over at night. Just the trail I was looking for.

Gets your heart pumping at the top :) beautiful views the whole hike short but definitely worth putting on checklist

Beautiful trail, the lakes are amazing, our dog enjoyed it too. The trail starts at mosquito flat, just follow the rock creek road to the very end, the road to parking lot gets narrower but the parking lot is huge.

Echo Lake is one of the best easy hikes in Tahoe but past Upper Echo Lake is not my favorite because it has lots of scree which makes it challenging to keep your footing while enjoying the view. Ankle support is a must on Upper Echo Lake section. Views are tops & lakes are plentiful past Upper Echo. Heavily trafficked. Lots of climbing on rock steps. Not much shade so avoid in July.

Took the dog out for a Saturday morning walk and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people out on this trail. The only negative would be the few rocky spots at the start, but once past that it is a nice easy stroll with multiple options to stop by the river. Will definitely be heading back in the future.

Pretty easy, hot, and dusty. It's a pretty shaded trail, so that definitely helps with the heat, but if you can get going early, I'd recommend it. Pretty average hike imo. Not bad, but also not amazing. The river is pretty! Take the app with you. It's easy to take a wrong turn.
