Hiking for 2.5 hours was rough but in the end, the view from the mountaintop was amazing and unforgettable

Love this hike! So beautiful with running water throughout the hike :-) Bring hiking poles!

Beautiful, amazing hike. Wish I had brought lunch and extra water bottles.

Did it today, was tough but awesome

Did this hike yesterday was my first time did the big loop trail 6 miles. Just as we were leaving the fog rolled in and covered the entire valley so awesome to experience with the kids. Will definitely go back there with the mountain bike.

My go to for getting away from all the crazies in the city

if you hike frequently, this hike won't take you a full day. I can go from the Icehouse trailhead to Icehouse saddle In under 2 hours. I've done the Icehouse trail and Chapman loop in 4 and a half hours. great hike though!

Besides the noise it’s a fun adventure.

Easy walk. You’ll see some horses as you walk.

I have walk this trial several times , but last times I have noticed less and less water and more house construction. So much destruction around the area. machines extracting water too. Very sad .

Amazing easy trail with great views!

Great hike! I loved the views. The creek running by portions of the trail is beautiful and refreshing. It was wonderful to see so many out enjoying nature!

es super para caminar 4 millas ahoy yeee

We saw three ospreys very beautiful! We went early around 7:00am

Easy, scenic trail. Saw rabbits, countless birds, lizards and a baby rattle snake! Down side, you get hints of car noise from the PCH and not secluded.

A very nice trail for a warmer day, as most of the trail is in the shade and much of it is parallel to a stream.

Enjoyed the birding photo opportunity.

nice hike with easy parking. a lot of runners so this might be a good spot if you like to jog/run

My favorite hike to frequent as a local from Claremont. Not sure if I would rate this trail as difficult. Moderate for sure. Only moderately difficult part IMO are the switchbacks nearing the saddle. Nice mix of shade and sun and makes for a lovely hike as it parallels the creek. Lots of Columbine wild flowers, manzanitas and pines.

Great Hike! Note that the actual mileage as shown on the map is 8.9 miles

Well maintained trails that were pretty easy. This is a nice place for being in the middle of the city. There is no shade but the views are great. Not a great place if trying to get away due to location, traffic noise and airport noise but it was a great place to go to get out of the hotel room without fighting traffic.

If you want to smell pines, this is it!

Started out at the entrance by Campsite and headed to the other end of sunrise highway.

You can pick up more trails to add elevation and mileage to make this “moderate”. You are above 5000ft above sea level - very temperate weather.

Make sure to download maps - cell signal is non-existent.

This is a great trail for families because there is a paved trail you can walk on if you have strollers or wheelchairs. Dogs are allowed on a leash. You wan venture off the paved trails to add a little more difficulty to your hike but I would still say this is an easy trail and great for beginners. There are bikers you need to watch for if you're on the paved trails. The views are great here and you get cool ocean breeze.

I love the hike, but it's extremely crowded on the weekends.

I love doing this trail. Have done all but 2 of the trails that break off of the Saddle. I'm getting dropped off at the Icehouse Trailhead and getting picked up at Little Creek Rd, this Sunday.

Very peaceful when the weather isn’t great!

It was a great hike. The weather was nice while we were there this morning. The hike was moderate with lots of rocks. On our way down, one lady hiker felt and the fire fighter has to come and help her out So hike carefully n watch your step.

First hike in CA since moving from Denver, and did not disappoint. Great mix of terrain and grade with some excellent views.

Gorgeous trail and gorgeous day! Did the entire loop and pond. So many wildflowers and birds. Hardly anyone else around. Loved every minute!

Very interesting trail starts off lush and covered next to the stream. Becomes more arid as you ascend. The vegetation changes with the elevation including manzanitas and ponderosa pines. Uphill all the way out and therefore downhill all the way back. Great little trail would be worth doing again to do a backpacking camping trip. Many trails throughout the area.
