My friend and I hiked this trail today after a long day hiking Kentucky Falls and then on to the Florence for some RR! I must say that it has been years since we had visited this marvelous little wonder!! It’s funny the beauty you can miss with kids, dogs and too many people. Soooo glad we stopped on our way out!! What a great way to end our day!! It is definitely a “Must Go!!” Next time we will go out to picnic!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️

love this short walk.

This is an easy and leisurely path for people of all skill levels. There are good views of the creek and the river. It's an easy little excursion if you live around Eugene or Cottage Grove and need to get a little fresh air.

Easy quick hike when you need a little Mother Nature after a day at work.

Beautiful falls and great breezes through out.

Love McDowell Creek. Great simple hike for the family with gorgeous scenery.

Pretty nice

Absolutely love this trail. I take anyone that comes and visits me from out of town to this spot. By far one of my top 5 favs so far on the north umpqua.

Well maintained and great for kids. My 5 and 8 year old nephews loved it and all the waterfalls!

short lil hike. good for kiddos. stairs can be slippery in wet season. both falls are pretty..

Great first hike to do!

Poorly marked trail and like Shawna said there is a sign pointing in the direction you need to go but you can’t see it and it’s only visible coming from the opposite direction.

We were confused when we got to the trailhead because there was separate parking for Homestead and Sweet Creek Falls. We parked at the Sweet Creek Falls lot, which is not the complete trail that is described. It worked out great, though, because today was very busy, and when we got to the falls, there was only another small group there. We back-tracked on the trail towards the Homestead lot (three times as many people there than when we arrived 45 minutes before!) and then made our way back. Lots of small, beautiful waterfalls along the way.

Beautiful views and worth the walks and hiking and climbing rocks to get closer to the falls.

Be careful, there is some poison oak on the upper trail for the Golden Falls.

Beautiful falls. Two short trails (15 and 20 min round trip) to the lower sides of both falls; 60 min to the top of the golden fall and back -with a detour to the silver fall and possibility to walk trough the fall itself / get sprayed.
Perfect family walks!

Nice short trail lots of stairs we left from the visitors center and there was a tunnel under the highway almost all blackout very beautiful.

very beautiful

favorite place to go if I have free time haha

This was a great loop for our 4 & 6 year olds. I loved that it was not crowded like other places with numerous falls. The kids enjoyed the falls and the trails.

This was a beautiful drive to these two hikes. Roads were easily driven - our Mini Cooper did just fine on the roads. :-) We took the two shorter trails to the base of the waterfalls and had a picnic lunch at the tables. Outhouses were ok- just bring hand wipes. Kids will do well on these trails as well as dogs.

best waterfalls I've seen so far.

Awesome trail!

Nice peaceful area with a lot of history. Enjoyed seeing the filbert orchards and the river.

Quite a bit of traffic but very beautiful!

I loved this hike. There's easy access to play in the water as well. we went in August so we enjoyed the cold waters.

I have to say I don't agree that this is an easy level hike.
I do love Gold and Silver Falls though. The hike is absolutely worth it when you get to the top of the falls!

Such a wonderful little hike with amazing waterfall views. My five year old said "this is the the heart of nature!" I think she's right.

Easy hike worth the trip for the view.

Great loop trail at any time of the year, though some of the wooden steps and walkways can become slippery in wet weather.
