Beautiful hike with tons of falls, especially after a rain. Take care when walking the trails with high grass in the lowlands of the mountain...countless deer ticks.

This is not a hiking trail. It really is all a beach. Also, there is a sign for no dogs. wtf?

I am trying to hike this weekend 4/28.. I see some roads are closed. Will I be able to hike to summit still?

Thanks for any advice !

Great waterfall hike

Great trail hike the views are worth the hike. start to the trail on the left all down hill great photo ops, and on the way out go left nice easy gradual hike back out.

Started counter clockwise and ended up doing a figure 8. Best to start out early, as it warmed up pretty quickly (and parking filled up by the time I left). Some parts were a bit on the steep and rocky side. All in all an excellent trail.

Very nice trail! First of all, I love the fact that it’s dog friendly. My puppy loved it, especially he got to play with some other doggies on the hike too. The trail has diverse views, forest, creek, meadow, and valley view. Most of the trail is well shaded, definitely a great hike on a warm day. Would definitely come back to the park and explore more trails.

Did this hike last summer- beautiful and well worth all the switchbacks!

Awesome hike, started counter clockwise, straight up first 1.3 Miles, then continued climb up to 2.7 Miles. It’s hard as described, if one starts clockwise then it’s less intense. Spectacular view of Oakland, San Francisco, Emeryville, Berkley, Richmond, Lafayette, and Moraga. Lot of wildflowers. 6.7 miles with elevation gain 1,667 feet.

Solid. You can make it tomorrow steep or easy and either way you see the falls and the top of the river.

Longer than 6 miles, but didn’t track exactly. (Watch died mid-hike.) We went counter-clockwise. Beautiful views; definitely challenging. 1800 ft elevation gain. Our 7-year-olds made it, but frankly I’m surprised. I wouldn’t have made them go so far if I had known it was on the tough side. Took over 4 hours with a short lunch break. Pack lots of water!

Amazing trail with waterfalls, creeks, spectacular views. Started at Regency trailhead, Donner Canyon Road, Fall Trail, Middle Trail, and Back Creek Trail, 7.1 Miles, elevation gain 1,555 feet, moderate hike. Lot of shades and wildflowers.

I was mid trail just as the sun was setting. The mountains and the lighting made me feel like I was in Hawaii.

This is an easy walk atop the bluffs with an ocean view almost all the way. Wildflowers were everywhere in early April. There are smooth colorful rocks, with chert, blue shist, and plenty others in the mix on the coarse-grained beaches along the way.

The waterfall was amazing and cooooold. I went with my dog and there were many friends for him to play with. The only downside was the amount of people, however that’s with all beautiful hiking trails. 10/10 I would recommend heading on down there when the waters running.

Beautiful trail especially after rain

Beautiful trail during spring and specially after rain storm to see so many of these small waterfalls along this hike.

Beautiful place to hike and see Gods creation. about 8 miles of trail. easier and longer by 1/2 mile way to go on the right but shorter and steeper on the way is on the left. recomend this hike if you will be in that area of Oroville.

Awesome trail. Not much shade or coverage. Beautiful scramble in the end.

Probably my favorite hike in the Bay Area

Great spring hike! Was longer than the posted distance, closer to 7 miles. Would probably rate it moderate instead of “hard”. We did it counterclockwise as other reviews suggested and enjoyed it. Waterfalls and wildflowers. Go early for good parking and less people.

As described, hard but rewarded with awesome views of Bay Area. Never imaged a trail like this will be nested in along those big mansions. The first 3 miles are hard, coming down is challenging too, hiking shoes are a must.

Overall it challenged me, and will do it gain on my next biz trip.

Beautiful, well kept trails. No bathroom or water facilities so be prepared!

Steep Ravine is a wonderful rainforest right now!

This hike is absolutely amazing. It is pretty difficult though. I’m 20 and I’m pretty good shape and it had me and both my friends sweating. The whole loop is gorgeous. Tons of wildlife like the California newt, banana slugs, and all the lizards you could want to see. On my second visit did run into a couple tiny Alameda striped Racer snakes. It’s an amazing hike for all ages but it is definitely a workout. 100% is a must do while you are in the area. I try and go at least once a week because it is just so beautiful.
